Not rated. Clive Coates (The Wines of Burgundy): "David Duband's father was a member of the Hautes-Côtes cooperative until he extricated himself in 1991. David took over when his father retired in 1995. When the Parisien François Feuillet bought a small domaine based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, he entrusted young Duband with the share-cropping role. Feuillet bought the estate of Jacky Truchot-Martin of Morey-Saint-Denis in 2005, quadrupling the size of his exploitation. The wines, whether labelled Duband or Feuillet, are identical... High quality here--and a nice man."

Producer notes: "It is the plot called Tire-savatte which produces this blend, the slopes of which dominate the Thouet valley and the village of Saumoussay. This very concentrated vintage will seduce you by its powerful, aromatic expression blending red macerated fruits with liquorice, vanilla and grilled nuances. Born from a strict selection of mature grapes, this more autumnal vintage reflects all the concentration of the Cabernet Franc vine on the Saumurois soil. All care is given to these grapes, giving it a generous and powerful flavor expressing mellow tannins. Best to decant before serving at room temperature (18-20°C), to allow for its full aromas and opulent structure to best complement red meats, big game birds and chocolate cake. Drink: now-2021."

Importer notes: "An estate reflecting the image of an ever-changing Jura and family enterprise that was created in the early '40s by Désiré Rolet. A native vineyard consisting of 60 hectares distributed over the best hills of the Arbois and Côtes du Jura AOC vineyards, the Rolet Estate is the second largest winegrowing estate in the Jura. Tasting Notes: Deep cherry color. On the nose, Morello cherry carries this vintage. Then strawberry, a little bit of blackberry and the characteristic spiciness of this varietal appear. On the mouth, it has a lot of presence. One must wait patiently for this vintage's complex aromas to develop their warm flavors, reminiscent of cooked strawberry, raspberry and various spicy and peppery nuances. This is a vin de garde to be enjoyed with cooked meats, game and cheese."

Importer notes: "The Cabernet (80%) provides superb structure and ample fruit, all with natural acidity. The equal parts of Petit Verdot and Merlot amount to 10% each and can be viewed as the proper final 'salting' to a finely prepared dish. No 'fairy dust' used here. You'll find a striking color in the glass and a medley of rich fruits coming from the Cabernet: black currant, plum and juicy berries with a whisper of bay leaf and licorice to boot. The Petit Verdot gives a kiss of spiciness, while the Merlot lends a hint of black cherry. The tannins are elegant and pristine. Fermentation begins in cement vats, just as it did generations ago. Finished in 2-3 year barrels, all re-used from her Château Deyrem-Valentin in Margaux. Non-filtré. 'Back to the future' Grand Vin de Haut-Médoc à la Christelle Sorge."
