89-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Mild reduction detracts only mildly from the red and black pinot fruit that also displays a subtle hint of crushed herbs. The dusty and sappy middle weight flavors are supported by very fine tannins and good richness on the long and mouth coating finish. There is a bit more mid-palate concentration here compared to the Les Plantes and Feusselottes. Drink: 2017+. (Jan 2012)"

The dense and quite seductively textured medium-bodied flavors possess a silky mouth feel on the balanced and lingering finish where a hint of mineral character emerges. This is almost delicate and is an understated wine of finesse. Drink: 2017+. (Apr 2013)"

Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This also displays just a hint of reduction that serves to reduce the expressiveness of the nose though aggressive swirling liberates notes of reticent red currant, briar and wet stone. There is excellent verve to the middle weight flavors that exude mineral and soil tones before terminating in a quite finely detailed finish that lacks the same depth as the best here. Drink: 2018+. (Apr 2013)"
Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy): "This domaine is run by Christian Amiot (one of the sons of Pierre Amiot from Morey-St-Denis) who is married to Elisabeth Servelle, daughter of Bernard Servelle-Tachot... The domaine has been farmed organically from 2003, with AB certification from the 2008 vintage. The wines taste fresh and modern although there is no great reliance on oak--20 per cent new wood is used for the village wine, and up to 50 per cent for the two top premiers crus... (2010)"
Clive Coates (The Wines of Burgundy): "Quality has improved... The wines now are very good, indeed. (2008)"

The nicely rich and round flavors possess good volume and this too offers a supple and silky mouth feel on the delicious, balanced and persistent finish. This is not quite as refined as the Feusselottes but displays a bit more complexity. A qualitative choice. Drink: 2016+. (Jan 2012)"

91 points - 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(a 1 ha blend of Groseilles, Baudes, Noirots and Gruenchers, which interestingly are all bunched together, geographically speaking). A restrained, elegant and very pure nose of red and blue pinot fruit and ripe cherry that is nuanced with hints of violet and stone. There is good richness and tension to the medium-bodied flavors that possess good mid-palate density, all wrapped in an energetic and refined finish. Worth your consideration plus it could be approached while young if desired. Drink: 2018+. (Jan 2013)"

91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "There is enough reduction present to detract mildly from the otherwise ripe white and yellow orchard fruit aromas that possess an attractive sense of layering. There is good generosity and volume to the concentrated, energetic, complex, long and refreshing finish that contrast a mid-palate sweetness against a very dry and relatively refined finish. Note that my score assumes the reduction is simply a post-bottling phase. Drink: 2017+. (Jun 2012)"

The mid-palate seems directly extracted from liquid stone as 2010 is a vintage where the natural minerality of a fine Caillerets is very much front and center. Drink: 2017+. (Jun 2012)"

93 points and 'Don't miss! Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 4 ha parcel). Noticeable though not overt wood influence sets off a very ripe nose composed of liqueur of plum, cassis and wild raspberry aromas. There is excellent richness to the round and relatively powerful medium weight flavors blessed with an abundance of dry extract that buffers the otherwise very firm, long and serious finish. This is also notably austere and extremely compact at present and as such it seems reasonably clear that it will not be a good candidate for early drinking. Drink: 2020+. (Apr 2012)"
91-94 points Fine Wine Review: "The Beaune-Grèves, Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus (what I tasted was probably to be the final selection) is somewhat oaky in the nose, but not overly so, and there are spice aromas, too. The mouth is silky (which comes from the oldest vines, almost 60 years) with medium weight and elegance. The flavors are red fruits with some minerality, and there is good acidity to the wine. (Issue #137; 2013)"
90-92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Bouchard’s flagship bottling of l’Énfant Jésus is really excellent, and I can only imagine how this kind of purity of fruit and soil is going to show when not encumbered next year by such spicy oak. The 2010 offers up a superb nose of red and black cherries, currants, coffee, incipient notes of sous bois, a touch of game, soil and spicy new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and shows off outstanding purity on the attack, with a sappy core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, tangy finish that shows just a bit more oak spice than would be ideal. The raw materials here this year are absolutely stunning, and I have little doubt that this wine has the depth of fruit to eventually absorb its wood, but it will always have that telltale touch of Pain Épice. 2020-2060. (Jun 2012)"
91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Bright medium red. Musky, sauvage aromas of red cherry, cherry skin, game and leather. Rich and full, offering considerable fat to its ripe flavors of redcurrant, musky herbs, smoke and game. Finishes with round, dusty tannins, a hint of menthol and very good length... (Mar/Apr 2013)"
91 points Wine Spectator: "[$100 list] A spice-infused red, with a cherry core. Dense and well-structured, picking up savory and mineral elements on the finish. The tight structure needs time to resolve. Best from 2016 through 2030. 300 cases imported. (4/30/13)"

An exotically spiced nose of dark berry fruit with a hint of cassis leads to round, generous and notably rich medium-bodied flavors that possess fine volume on the complex and slightly more firmly structured finish. While the quality of these two villages-level efforts is similar, I slightly prefer the finesse and delicacy of the Combe Brûlée. Comments: Outstanding. Drink: 2018+. (Jan 2012)"

90 points and 'Year's Best White Burgundy,' Wine & Spirits: "A classical Chablis from the fourth generation of this family domaine, this wine’s crisp green apple and bright lime flavors have fruit intensity that lasts. A central spine of acidity keeps it fresh and lively. For raw oysters now, or wood-roasted oysters if you age this for a few years. (Apr 2013)"
San Francisco Chronicle: "(12.5%): Young Romain Collet has taken over the estimable work of his father Gilles, a locally known talent. Let's hope the Collet name catches here: From the single Pargues parcel next to the premier crus Butteaux and Forest, this reveals surprisingly ripe quince and apricot amid deep flinty tones. That makes it a touch friendlier in all its mineral energy. Instantly pleasing. (5/6/12)"

Producer notes: "On the right bank of the Serein river, the Valmur is situated in the centre of the Grands Crus area (divided into 7 named vineyard sites). Its identity is made up from the depth of its clay limestone soils over a mark base, named Kimmeridgian. The ground is heavy and strewed with small fossilized oysters : 'Exogyra Virgula'. This area has a western exposure and is situated in a deep valley, with high temperatures in the summer. Food pairing: lobster, scampi and noble fish like turbot; can also accompany roasted white meats and goat cheeses."

Underlying notes of minerality support the fruit through to the intense finish. There are some elements of wildness that appear in the glass, but they don't materially detract from the wine's energy and focus. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. (Feb 2012)"

Fresh mint, spices and licorice linger on the sensual, feminine finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. (Feb 2012)"
89-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A similar but more complex nose leads to rich and solidly well-concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess equally good depth before culminating in a long and mildly austere finish. 92-94 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Corton La Vigne Au Saint bursts from the glass with a heady array of dark red fruit, crushed flowers and licorice. It shows tons of complexity and sheer nuance. The wine gains volume and textural depth with air as it fleshes out on the palate. Menthol and eucalyptus are some of the notes that are woven into the hugely satisfying finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2022. (Feb 2012)"
91-93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A beautifully layered nose is really quite pretty with notes of red raspberry, red currant and plum along with soft floral, soil and spice notes. The rich, intense and mineral-inflected medium weight flavors possess excellent delineation with striking depth and length. This is not especially powerful, at least not in the sense of a classic Corton but it's much finer and impeccably well-balanced on the distinctly firm finish. Drink: 2020+. (Apr 2012)"

92-95 points Fine Wine Review: "Drouhin’s flagship Beaune-Clos des Mouches is round and powerful with incipient butter notes in the nose. The mouth shows good energy to go with minerality, lemon zest, and white pepper flavors. This wine, too, is very long. (Issue #137; 2013)"
b>93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2010 Clos des Mouches is going to be a great wine in the fullness of time, and having just drunk the magical 1978 a few years ago, it certainly seems like the second coming of that wine is embodied in this beautiful 2010. The red fruity bouquet is deep, pure and very primary, offering up a classy mix of cherries, a bit of beetroot, woodsmoke, herbs, coffee, a very complex base of soil and a touch of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with a refined, but reserved style, a sappy core and outstanding length and grip on the focused and ripely tannic finish. A great Clos des Mouches in the making. 2018-2050+. (Nov/Dec 2011)"
91-93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$110 list] Drouhin's 2010 Beaune Clos des Mouches is a gorgeous wine endowed with considerable depth and richness. Suave tannins provide the backdrop for the fruit in this layered Clos des Mouches. Today the aromas and flavors are a bit reticent; instead it is the wine's texture than stands out most. I will not be surprised if the 2010 ends up considerably better than this note suggests. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (Feb 2012)"
92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Moderately saturated bright medium red. Pretty aromas of red raspberry, flowers and crushed stone. Juicy and very pure but youthfully imploded, with a penetrating minerality contributing to the impression of inner-mouth tension. Lovely delicacy and finesse here. The very long, sappy, echoing finish perks up the taste buds. Still a baby, and wonderfully light on its feet. (Mar/Apr 2013)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Reductive aromas of smoke and earth give way to bright cherry and spice flavors in this red, with lovely texture. Though not powerful, there's a density and texture to the tannins that bodes well for the future. Best from 2016 through 2035. 500 cases imported. (6/15/13)"
92 points Wine & Spirits: "This 35-acre, mid-slope holding in the Clos des Mouches has been part of the Drouhin family domaine since the 1920s. Half pinot noir, it had been farmed organically since 1990, prior to being converted to biodynamics. The vineyard gave a deep, saturated red in 2010; its black cherry flavors have the meatiness of roast squab. Scents of kelp and crushed seashells brighten the wine, bringing out the spicy dynamism in its flavors. Built to cellar. (Oct 2012)"
91 points and 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A ripe and highly complex nose of floral, earth, spice and discreet wood notes all add breadth to the very fresh dark berry fruit aromas. There is good volume to the lush, round and intense medium-bodied flavors that possess a moderately firm tannic spine as well as excellent depth and length. This should require 6 to 9 years of cellar time but be more than capable of holding for years to come. Drink: 2017+. (Apr 2012)"

As with the Vergelesses, there is mild reduction present that in this case is sufficiently slight that it doesn't unduly detract from the sense of aromatic freshness exhibited by the red currant, plum and soil-inflected nose. There is excellent size and weight to the very rich, round and impressively complex broad-shouldered flavors that display a subtle minerality on the refined, balanced and strikingly long finish. This is a Bressandes that will age for years yet is not so firmly structured that it won't be approachable young. Drink: 2022+. (Apr 2012)"

There is fine richness and evident power to the sleekly muscular medium-bodied flavors that are blessed with an abundance of tannin-buffering dry extract on the mouth coating, balanced and seductively textured finale. 89-92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good bright red. Reticent aromas of dark cherry and crushed stone show a building spice character with air; less exuberant than the Champs Fulliot. Similar to the nose of the Combe d'Orveau, this is gorgeously complex though the components of it are notably different as here there is more emphasis on earth and a sauvage character to the exceptionally fresh and airy yet deeply pitched aromas. The rich, intense and palate saturating flavors possess excellent volume yet fine detail as well as a driving minerality that is buffered by an abundance of dry extract that imparts a seductive character to the hugely long finish. 98 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2010 William Fèvre les Clos is the very finest of what is an utterly stunning array of grand crus from the domaine in this vintage. The nearly perfect nose offers up a complex and youthful mélange of apple, tart orange, grapefruit, flint, stunning, stony minerality, lime zest, smoke and spring flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with a properly reserved personality, simply enormous, nascent complexity, a rock solid core and brilliant cut and grip on the snappy, soil-driven and magically long finish. Stunning juice. 2022-2075. (Nov/Dec 2011)"
97 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from 4 separate parcels totaling 4.11 ha, 3 of which are all at the top of the slope). An exceptionally fresh and intensely floral nose also offers up notes of lime, lemon, stone and iodine that are trimmed in a discreet touch of wood. There is massive richness to the concentrated and big-bodied flavors that are breathtakingly powerful and intense, all wrapped in a palate drenching and extraordinarily long finish. As impressive as all of these characteristics are, it’s the sheer depth of underlying material that is almost hard to believe. Like the Preuses and the Valmur, this is a ‘wow’ wine that should develop for at least a decade though because of all of the dry extract, it will be approachable much sooner. In a word, brilliant. Drink: 2020+. (Oct 2012)"
95+ points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "[$115/750ml list] Bright, pale green. Subtle, delicate aromas of white peach, mint, crushed stone and chlorophyll. Less complex today than the Preuses but this is still an infant. All about white peach lifted by white pepper. Fine-grained, silky and utterly vibrant wine, delivering outstanding density and fullness without weight. Great slowly mounting finish promises much more to come. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
94 points and 'Year's Best White Burgundy,' Wine & Spirits: "[$115/750ml list] One of the most prized holdings in the domaine, Fèvre owns 10.15 acres on the south-facing hillside of Les Clos, the heart of Chablis’s grand crus. This 2010 is so concentrated and powerful that it’s hard to approach, a deep well of whiteness, of lees and jasmine, lilac and bee pollen, harmony and youthful pallor. There’s no wisdom in drinking this before it’s ten years old or older; if you do open the bottle before then, double decant it back into the bottle and forget about it for a day. (Oct 2012)"
18/20 points Michel Bettane (The World of Fine Wine): "One of the most impressive Chablis of the vintage: a complete rendition of Les Clos. This wine needs 8-10 years to blossom and deliver all the magic minerality of the place. (Issue #35; 2012)"
