Amiot-Servelle produces fruity wines in which balance and elegance prevail, and this 2010 vintage is no exception. Fresh and nicely aromatic. Expressive aromas of white flowers, brioche, hazelnut and a hint of vanilla. Nice amplitude in the mouth, with a lovely intensity of white flowers, hazelnut, pear and vanilla. Elegant and refined, this Bourgogne blanc offers a harmonious balance, a hint of minerality and a very pleasant finish.

88 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A lightly spiced nose of red and blue pinot fruit has its expressiveness reduced by noticeable reduction so be sure to decant this if you're going to try one young. The lacy, pure and round mineral-inflected flavors are forward and very supple, all wrapped in a dusty, delicious and mouth coating finish. This notably pretty effort is very Chambollesque in character. Drink: 2017+. (Apr 2013)"
Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy): "This domaine is run by Christian Amiot (one of the sons of Pierre Amiot from Morey-St-Denis) who is married to Elisabeth Servelle, daughter of Bernard Servelle-Tachot... The domaine has been farmed organically from 2003, with AB certification from the 2008 vintage. The wines taste fresh and modern although there is no great reliance on oak--20 per cent new wood is used for the village wine, and up to 50 per cent for the two top premiers crus... (2010)"
Clive Coates (The Wines of Burgundy): "Quality has improved... The wines now are very good, indeed. (2008)"

The dusty and sappy middle weight flavors are supported by very fine tannins and good richness on the long and mouth coating finish. There is a bit more mid-palate concentration here compared to the Les Plantes and Feusselottes. Drink: 2017+. (Jan 2012)"

Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This also displays just a hint of reduction that serves to reduce the expressiveness of the nose though aggressive swirling liberates notes of reticent red currant, briar and wet stone. There is excellent verve to the middle weight flavors that exude mineral and soil tones before terminating in a quite finely detailed finish that lacks the same depth as the best here. Drink: 2018+. There is a touch of the sauvage to the round, generous and fleshy medium weight plus flavors that possess good size and weight before culminating in a well-detailed, complex and lingering finish. Drink: 2019+. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "One of the first plots along the 'Route des Grands Crus', on the Morey side which is also entitled to the appellation of Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru. On the nose, nearly candied, develops strong aromas of black fruit. This appellation always displays a strong density due to the small loose clusters able to mature easily. This wine is aptly named due to its very rich tannins and a slightly sweet taste at mid-palate."

This is very Clos St. Denis in character with its combination of finesse and taut muscularity and the overall impression is one of contrast, which is to say a broad-scaled wine of finesse. As expressive as this is today I got the distinct sense that this is going to close down hard in the near future and will also require extended cellaring before it's again ready for prime time. This is textbook Chablis from start to finish. Drink: 2015+. (Oct 2011)"
89-91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Chablis Vau de Vey is considerably cooler and more inward than the Beauroy, reflecting the personality of this cold, late-ripening site. Here the nose is quite dense with overtly ripe yet cool green fruit, lime and pronounced dried floral elements leading to seductively textured, mineral-infused and delicious flavors that possess a silky mouth feel on the well-defined and lingering finish. As good as this refined effort is, and yes, it's very good, it's not quite in the same league as the Montée de Tonnerre or Mont de Milieu. Drink: 2017+. (Sep 2012)"
91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$42 list] The 2010 Chablis Fourchaume wraps around the palate with layers of rich, inviting fruit. This is a more enveloping, round style of Chablis built on fruit rather than minerality. With its soft, seductive personality, the Fourchaume will drink nicely upon release. This is easily one of the more open and accessible of the Billaud-Simon 2010s. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. (Aug 2012)"
90 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Bright, pale green-tinged yellow. Good lift to the aromas of crystallized lemon peel, mango and kiwi. Then fat, round and sweet, offering good energy considering its thickness. Harmonious Chablis with a persistent flavor of candied pineapple accented by minerality. I much prefer the balance of this wine to the Mont de Milieu. At this point in our tasting, Bernard Billaud compared 2010 to 2002. (Jul 2012)"

Anticipated maturity: 2012+. (Aug 2012)"
89 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(bottled in July of 2011): Pale, green-tinged yellow. Hints of lemon and orange peel on the reticent nose. Juicy, steely village wine with attractive sweetness and density; in a distinctly firmer and more mineral style than the 2011. 'The point of 2010 is the salt and the soil,' noted Samuel Billaud. 'It's hard to get this character.' Finishes salty and long but with plenty of buffering ripe citrus fruit. (Jul 2012)"
88 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A ripe, fresh and expressive nose features notes of orange peel, white flowers, sea breeze, apricot and saline hints. There is excellent richness to the unusually full-bodied flavors that possess first-rate intensity before culminating in an ever-so-slightly bitter, austere and racy finish. I suspect that the bitterness will be a passing phase and if this can add depth with time in bottle, my score could be seen as unduly conservative. Drink: 2014+. (Oct 2012)"

91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$37 list] Billaud’s 2010 Chablis Fourneaux is quite immediate. There is plenty of minerality, but the fruit is so intense it dominates in the wine’s overall balance. The south-facing exposure and sunny microclimate of Fourneaux comes through in spades and yields a young wine that is accessible in its youth because of the sheer richness of the fruit. This is a very pretty 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. (Aug 2012)"
90 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Bright pale yellow. Precise but subdued aromas of orange zest, crushed stone and minerals. Supple, silky and salty on the palate, with an austere chalky, almost metallic minerality that reminded me of Champagne. The rising finish shows some almost exotic lemon and orange flavors and a warmer, gentler minerality. (Jul 2012)"

94+ points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$40 list] Cool, inward and impeccably layered from start to finish, the 2010 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre impresses for its fabulous sense of balance and poise. Slate, crushed rocks, lime and white flowers are woven together in a fabric of unusual class and elegance. All the elements fuse together impeccably here. This is a gorgeous Chablis, but it will require patience. Today the 2010 is quite reticent, but the pedigree is evident. Anticipated maturity: 2014. (Aug 2012)"
93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Montée de Tonnerre from Monsieur Billaud is produced from a parcel of thirty-year-old vines and is raised similarly to the Monts de Milieu, with twenty percent barrel fermentation and the remainder done in stainless. The excellent nose jumps from the glass in a classic expression of apple, grapefruit, lemon peel, chalky minerality, straw, perhaps just a whisper of vanilla from the barrel fermentation and a lovely topnote of beeswax. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with a fine core of fruit, excellent depth and focus and a very long, racy and precise finish. This is an excellent example of Montée de Tonnerre. 2016-2035. (Jun 2012)"
92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "While there is a trace of exotic fruit to the otherwise very pure aromas of white flower, citrus, wet stone and seaweed, this offers ample Chablis character. There is an attractive succulence to the fleshy middle weight flavors that exude a fine minerality on the clean, dry, linear and overtly saline-infused finish. Like the straight Chablis, this too evidences a hint of bitterness though it should pass in time. Drink: 2016+. (Oct 2012)"
91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(10% of this wine was aged in a new Chassin barrel): Bright, light medium yellow. Slightly high-toned, complex nose combines fresh peach, toasted baguette, crushed oyster shell and smoky silex, lifted by a whiff of clove. Sweet on entry, then quite stony and a bit disjointed in the middle, closed today but showing very good energy. (Jul 2012)"

The bouquet is deep, pure and just oozes with the inherent elegance of the 2010 vintage, as it delivers scents of black cherries, dark berries, French roast, gamebirds and a very complex base of soil. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very suave on the attack, with sappy core of fruit, ripe, fine-grained tannins and outstanding length and grip on the tangy and very complex finish. This is a brilliant bottle of Grands Liards in the making! 2018-2040+. (Nov/Dec 2011)"
89-92 points Fine Wine Review: "The Savigny, Grands Liards is from vines planted at various times between 1939 and 1977. This red-fruited wine shows excellent depth, a smooth palate, and it is pure and racy -- a great combination. (Issue #137; 2013)"
16.5/20 points Michel Bettane (The World of Fine Wine): "Delcious racy nose, with ancient rose undertones; very good colour for a village Savigny and winemaking with a good proportion of whole berries. Long and harmonious. (Issue #35; 2012)"

The wine had been racked in October and was absolutely singing in mid-November, offering up a superb nose of apple, orange, stony minerality, a touch of beeswax (or is that Bize-wax?), an esthery note of spring flowers and a deft touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and rock solid at the core, with great focus, stunning length and grip and superb cut on the utterly pure and rapier-like finish. Readers will have a very, very hard time finding a wine with this much pure class and textural finesse. Smoke, flint, crushed rocks and citrus all flow through to the vibrant, pointed finish. Today, the 2010 is incredibly tight, and needs more time in bottle to soften. It is a dazzling wine endowed with laser-like focus and tons of purity. Anticipated maturity: 2015+. (Aug 2012)"
92-95 points Fine Wine Review: "The Corton-Charlemagne shows good tightness with lemony flavors and good acidity, minerality, and depth. It is an elegant Corton-Charlemagne. (Issue #137; 2013)"
94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Pale yellow. Initially closed nose of lemon drop, anise and wet stone opened with air to show underripe pineapple, spices and wild herbs. Dense, thick, powerful and dry, with a strong vanillin oak element nicely buffered by an impression of saline extract. Began a bit warm but aeration brought strong, chewy flavors of chalk and lemon. Finishes austere, uncompromisingly dry and very long, with superb verve. All about soil and stone. (Sep 2012)"

Noticeable though not overt wood influence sets off a very ripe nose composed of liqueur of plum, cassis and wild raspberry aromas. There is excellent richness to the round and relatively powerful medium weight flavors blessed with an abundance of dry extract that buffers the otherwise very firm, long and serious finish. This is also notably austere and extremely compact at present and as such it seems reasonably clear that it will not be a good candidate for early drinking. Drink: 2020+. (Apr 2012)"
91-94 points Fine Wine Review: "The Beaune-Grèves, Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus (what I tasted was probably to be the final selection) is somewhat oaky in the nose, but not overly so, and there are spice aromas, too. The mouth is silky (which comes from the oldest vines, almost 60 years) with medium weight and elegance. The flavors are red fruits with some minerality, and there is good acidity to the wine. (Issue #137; 2013)"
90-92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Bouchard’s flagship bottling of l’Énfant Jésus is really excellent, and I can only imagine how this kind of purity of fruit and soil is going to show when not encumbered next year by such spicy oak. The 2010 offers up a superb nose of red and black cherries, currants, coffee, incipient notes of sous bois, a touch of game, soil and spicy new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and shows off outstanding purity on the attack, with a sappy core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, tangy finish that shows just a bit more oak spice than would be ideal. The raw materials here this year are absolutely stunning, and I have little doubt that this wine has the depth of fruit to eventually absorb its wood, but it will always have that telltale touch of Pain Épice. 2020-2060. (Jun 2012)"
91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Bright medium red. Musky, sauvage aromas of red cherry, cherry skin, game and leather. Rich and full, offering considerable fat to its ripe flavors of redcurrant, musky herbs, smoke and game. Finishes with round, dusty tannins, a hint of menthol and very good length... (Mar/Apr 2013)"
91 points Wine Spectator: "[$100 list] A spice-infused red, with a cherry core. Dense and well-structured, picking up savory and mineral elements on the finish. The tight structure needs time to resolve. Best from 2016 through 2030. 300 cases imported. (4/30/13)"

94 points and 'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A brooding but impressively complex nose features notes of red currant, plum, earth and plenty of that Corton sauvage character. The textured, intense and broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent mid-palate concentration with fully mature structural elements. There is ample buffering sap, which is important as one would reasonably expect, this is a big and sleekly muscled wine with an explosively long, linear and overtly austere finish. The potential here is mostly impressive though note that plenty of patience is requisite. Drink: 2025+. (Apr 2012)"
92-94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(aging in two-thirds new oak): Dark red. Black fruits, flowers, minerals and licorice on the vibrant nose, plus a whiff of truffle; I would have picked this blind as a Cote de Nuits wine. Dense, sappy and sweet but with a light touch and excellent definition thanks to its firm underlying minerality. At once delicate and strong, finishing spicy and long, with a flavor of crunchy berries. Not an earthy style of Corton. (Jan/Feb 2012)"

From the walled vineyard right in front of the Château inside the village of Puligny-Montrachet, this over-achieving Bourgogne Blanc is stellar year in and year out. It definitely shows the floral and mineral notes in the nose that make the village famous. Good length and buttery, citrus fruit make this a great wine at any price, but this "little" wine from an estate with an embarrassing array of riches can stand up to the best of them.

Not yet reviewed; 2009 vintage rated 88 points by Fine Wine Review: "We start with the Bourgogne-Aligoté, bottled just prior to harvest. Yields were just 35 hl/ha -- remarkably low for a regional wine in this vintage. Vines are more than 80 years old and mostly raisin doré, the old strain of Aligoté that generally produces superior results. The wine is round and ripe with excellent minerality, silky in texture, long and pure with finesse that is unusual in Aligoté."
