A "grower Champagne" (aka "Farmer Fizz") from the same folks who make our best-selling non-vintage brut, Berthelot's Cuvée du Centenaire is produced only in exceptional vintages, such as 2004. This cuvée is a blend of approximately 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, grown in grand cru sites in and around Aÿ and in premier cru vineyards in Dizy, with an average vine age of 40 years. For a Champagne produced mostly from Chardonnay, it is unbelievably opulent, with a lush nose redolent of hazelnut, cashew, and fresh-from-the-oven brioche. In the mouth it is surprisingly rich, with flavors that evoke dried fruits such as apricot and white raisin, finishing with a blast of citrus zest. This is frighteningly close in quality to the luxury cuvées issued by the grandes marques but at about half the price and is not to be missed.

93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(disgorged July 9, 2010): Pale, green-tinged yellow. A complex bouquet displays scents of green apple, pear, lemon zest, toasty lees and honeysuckle. Packs a solid punch but conveys a weightless quality, offering sappy orchard fruit and citrus flavors along with suave mineral and floral qualities. The toasty note returns on the long, impressively incisive finish. (Dec 2010)"
92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The non-vintage Blanc de Blancs is not a large production item for Billecart-Salmon, and one does not cross paths with it regularly. The current release is all 2007 vintage and was aged nearly five years on the lees prior to disgorgement. Billecart produces their Blanc de Blancs bottlings from fruit sourced in only three villages in the Côte des Blancs- Chouilly, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant. The new release offers up a deep and lovely aromatic blend of pear, apple, stony minerality, bread dough, a hint of the pastry cream to come with bottle age and orange zest. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very elegant, with a lovely core of fruit, refined mousse and excellent length and grip on the well-balanced, youthful and classy finish. This is a very fine bottle of Blanc de Blancs that will only improve as it blossoms a bit more structurally with further bottle age. 2013-2025+. (Jan/Feb 2013)"
2-1/2 stars, New York Times: "Light, lacy, clear and pure with a fine texture and toasty, nutlike flavors. (12/19/11)"

92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "(served from magnum). This magnum is the same cuvée as the regular-sized bottle above (2008 base wine with thirty percent of the blend comprised of wines from 2006 and 2007), but for some reason, it was showing even a bit more youthful generosity in the mid-palate out of the larger format. This is a quite as dry styled Brut bottling, with a dosage of 7 grams per liter of residual sugar, and will age extremely well. The classy nose wafts from the glass in a blend of apple, a touch of tangerine, complex minerality, bread dough and a nice dollop of smokiness up high. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and complex, with a bit more early stuffing showing at the core, the same brisk acids, frothy mousse and a very long finish of excellent focus and grip. I love the Billecart non-vintage Brut and am very pleased to see it more readily available here in New York that used to be the case. As the slight difference in score might indicate, Champagne always tastes better out of magnum! Fine juice. 2013-2030. (Jan/Feb 2013)"
91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Light yellow-gold. Orange and pear aromas are complemented by notes of vanilla bean and honeysuckle. Silky in texture and nicely precise, with juicy orchard fruit flavors and a tangy note of Meyer lemon. Dry but in no way austere. Blends depth and energy smoothly and finishes with excellent clarity and nervy cut. (Dec 2010)"
91 points Wine Spectator: "Aromatic and spicy, with cedar, honey and ginger notes matching a firm structure and lean, intense character. Fine length."
91 points Wine News: "Lots of honey scents frame aromas of pineapple, apricot, chalk, yeast and brioche. Crisp, focused flavors of apple, orange marmalade, caramel and bread dough. Flint emerges in the dry finish. (Dec 2006/Jan 2007)"
Wall Street Journal: "Very good. Best of tasting. Pretty much all the aromas and flavors we want in Champagne--toasted nuts, yeast, minerals, a hint of zingy lemon and even some honeysuckle--all in a balanced, elegant package that gives it a relaxed sophistication. (12/13/08)"
Richard Juhlin: "(35% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier, 35% Chardonnay) This is the creation of the son, Antoine Billecart. I claim this to be the best nonvintage Champagne of the extremely fruity school. The nose is lively and as fresh as a spring morning, the flavor is light and citrus-fresh with a long, balanced aftertaste of Granny Smith apples. Softer, sweeter, and more creamy recently. (Feb 2010)"

94 points Wine News: "Light copper-orange hue; active stream of small bubbles. Enticing scents of bread dough, caramel and buttery fragrances. Soft entry with creamy vanilla, a nice balance of grains and light, malty nuances. A cleansing, racy grapefruit-inspired finish with pleasant, sweet overtones. (Dec 2008/Jan 2009)"
93 points Anthony Dias Blue (The Tasting Panel): "Pale pink, juicy, smooth, ripe, and tangy with raspberry; lush and tangy with great depth; racy acidity and seamlessly balanced; lovely. (Dec 2012)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Bright and elegant, this offers appealing flavors of ripe black cherry, raspberry and orange peel that show hints of toasted raisin bread, anise and sweet smoke. Offers a beautiful texture, with a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2015. (11/15/11)"
92 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(disgorged June 30, 2010): Light orange. Tangerine, pear and flowers on the nose, which is complicated by a note of fennel. Broad and sappy but dry, with lively orange and strawberry flavors and a subtle note of spice cake. Weightier on the finish, which features an exotic note of spicy herbs. This Champagne’s delicate touch will make it work well with simple seafood dishes or even sashimi. (Dec 2010)"
92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "This wine is a blend of fifty percent chardonnay, thirty percent pinot noir and twenty percent pinot meunier and was aged for fully four years on the fine lees prior to disgorgement and preparation for release. Unlike the house’s straight non-vintage Brut bottling, some of the base wines for the Brut Rosé go through malo. The bouquet on the current release is outstanding, wafting from the glass in a mélange of cherries, orange peel, woodsmoke, warm bread and a lovely base of complex minerality. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and very refined on the attack, with a lovely core, frothy mousse, bright acids and outstanding focus, length and grip on the very elegant and complete finish. Fine, fine juice. 2013-2020+. (Jan/Feb 2013)"
Wall Street Journal: "Unlike many Champagne houses that may turn out a token bottling, rosé is the main focus of Billecart-Salmon. It's a dry, delicate rosé with a lively acidity that makes it a good companion to food -- as well as a great wine for a celebratory toast. (8/6/11)"

92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "This was the first time I had tried a vintage-dated Extra Brut from Billecart-Salmon and I was quite impressed. The ’04 is a blend of 70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay and came about when the house decided not to produce a 2004 Cuvée Nicolas François in this vintage, thus freeing up some juice for this bottling. The superb nose wafts from the glass in a relatively toasty blend of apple, tart peach, sourdough bread, complex, stony minerality, a touch of nuttiness and a topnote of orange peel. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with beautiful balance and focus, a very good core, crisp acids and excellent length and grip on the classy finish. What I like about this wine is it is so well-balanced that its bone-dry backend never threatens to cross the line into flat out austerity. Today, this wine’s structure has just a bit of the upper hand, which gives it the appearance of being just a touch lean in the mid-palate, but I suspect that a few years of bottle age will allow the wine to fully blossom at the core and this will be a passing phenomenon. It is certainly approachable now, but I would be inclined to give this another two or three years in the cellar to really let it come into its own. 2013-2025+. (Jan/Feb 2013)"
The World of Fine Wine: "The 2004 (70% grand cru Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay) was 20% fermented in five-year-old oak barrels. A bright, intense gold. A fresher, more lifted nose than the NV, with glacé citrus fruits and smoke. Denser and more richly silken, but with more elegance, energy, focus, and race; impressive intensity and purity of fruit; beautifully integrated, the steely core well wrapped, but a more austere grandeur than the NV on the finish, as this is still some way off its peak. (Issue #30; 2010)"

94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% from 2005 that saw approximately 8 months in cask). This is a very interesting cuvée because it will very quickly answer any questions you may have about whether you enjoy noticeable wood in your Champagne. Sometimes, it can add breadth and depth and sometimes it can take away part of what makes Champagne Champagne, which is the racy and firm acid spine. In this particular case, the time in wood has very definitely added depth, not only from the slightly oxidative character but it has contributed mightily to the complexity. However, long-time readers know that I believe that there is no free lunch and in that sense, what has been gained in terms of depth has been lost in terms of freshness and precision. Some will like the trade-off and some will prefer tighter and more classically styled examples. I actually quite like this because it's delicious and it's relatively rare to obtain this much complexity and flat out superb length in a toasty package. That said, I have to underscore that this is not my preferred style even though I can admire it for what it is. In sum, if you enjoy wood-influenced Champagne, this is terrific. By contrast, if you don't, it would be best to look elsewhere. Drink: now+. (Oct 2009)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "[$97 list] This aromatic bubbly offers an exotic mix of flavors, with honeysuckle, marjoram, myrrh, coconut and ginger notes accenting patisserie apple, kiwifruit, honey and toast flavors. It's all packaged with vibrant, balanced acidity and finely detailed texture. Drink now through 2020. (11/30/11)"
92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The NV Brut Grand Cru Cuvee Julie is equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir fermented in oak. The Julie is wonderfully nuanced and balanced in a floral, approachable style that is quite appealing. This, too, needs a few more years in bottle, although it is and always will be less exciting than the Laetitia. This is L06, disgorged: May, 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. (Dec 2010)"
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Aged in wood before bottling, this is ripe and very full. Rather than add to the already-complex flavors, the wood has rounded it out. Yellow fruit integrates with intense, mineral-driven acidity, which accentuates the richness of this impressive bottling. Disgorged June 2012. (Dec 2012)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The NV Brut Cuvee Laetitia is predominantly Chardonnay done in a solera style that now includes 20 vintages going back to 1983. An ethereal bouquet of Mirabelle plums, cherries and jasmine leads to a rich, textured core of fruit. This Laetitia shows incredible power and depth, with a beguiling, vibrant finish that adds complexity and nuance. There is just a small hint of volatility that might trouble some tasters as it is borderline distracting. Still, the Laetitia remains one of the most unique bottles in Champagne. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. (Dec 2010)"
93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(disgorged in February, 2008; this contains 20 some-odd vintages from 1983 forward and the predominant variety is chardonnay). This is remarkably fresh for it to have such a large proportion of aged stock in it and while the nose is mature, there are absolutely no oxidative elements in it. In fact, I deliberately revisited this 24 hours after first opening it to see how the nose had evolved and I can report that there was very little discernable evolution. As I say, while fully mature, the mildly yeasty nose displays notes of baked apple, roasted nut and a dried rose petal nuance that also characterizes the rich, full and utterly delicious flavors that are also fresh and vibrant with plenty of energy and finishing punch. Often Champagnes with high percentages of reserves in them lack the same effervescence but that is certainly not the case here. This is a lovely effort that could be drunk now with pleasure or held for years to come. Drink: now+. (Oct 2009)"
93 points Wine News: "[$120 list] Beautiful pale gold hue with a fine mousse. Very forward bouquet carrying notes of banana, gingerbread spice and bread dough. Creamy mouth with a broad palate of sweet red fruit compote. While the wine is so loaded with fruit that it conveys an impression of sweetness, the finish is nonetheless very dry and long. A unique cuvée. (Dec 2008/Jan 2009)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Ripe flavors of candied cherry and currant, quince paste and honey are layered with subtle notes of blood orange, vanilla and almond in this exuberant Champagne, which shows good balance and an appealing juiciness that pushes through to the long, mouthwatering finish. Disgorged November 2010. Drink now through 2017. (11/30/11)"

94 points Wine News: "Burnished gold hue with a lively, streaming bead. Attractive bakery aromas of fresh croissant with nutmeg and vanilla highlights. Forward, mixed flavors of baked apple, dark honey and notes of beer and malt. Stylish, distinctive finish imbued with lingering red apple, caramel and crisp acidity. (Sep/Oct/Nov 2009)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "A lovely, balanced Champagne, with mineral and toast notes accenting flavors of quince, green pear, white peach and verbena. Backed by firm acidity, this shows impressive texture and finesse. Like a mosaic, all the pieces come together to make a beautiful whole. Drink now through 2020. (11/30/11)"
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$90 list] The classic Bollinger nonvintage is, as always, rich and firmly structured. With the roundness that comes from aging the wines in wood before blending, it has a ripe, smooth edge. Underneath, the texture is solid, with hints of apple and pear and mature acidity. Alcohol 12%. (Dec 2012)"
92 points Wine & Spirits: "Finely balanced between fruit and minerality, this layers tart red fruit, crème caramel and juicy pear in a long chalk line of flavor. It’s fresh and bright on one level, rich and sumptuous underneath -- a brilliant blend that would fit any occasion. (Dec 2012)"
91+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "This note hails from a sample of the most current release here in the US, which I tasted this month here in New York. This is a lovely and classy wine that is more minerally and less overtly 'toasty' than was the case with this bottling a generation ago, but equally fine. The nose is deep and complex, offering up a lovely blend of apple, orange peel, warm bread, a bit of caraway seed, complex soil tones and a gently smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is focused, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with crisp acids, very refined mousse, excellent grip and balance and a very long and youthfully classy finish. This is a lovely bottle that is already quite tasty, but may yet develop more of the old school Bollinger 'toastiness' with further bottle age. 2012-2025+. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
91 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "60% Pinot Noir; 25% Chardonnay; 15% Pinot Meunier. All Bolly in its toasty, chalky, slightly angular but powerful way, this wine reminds of the company's "Grande Annee" in its fairly bold approach. Frothy and insistent in its bubbles and tasty, rich, toasty, stony and vanillin all at the same time, this is Champagne with a purpose, and, in this case, it works without being over the top in any dimension. (Dec 2009)"
Wall Street Journal ("Alice Feiring's Top Champagne Picks"): "For some mysterious reason, Bollinger in the United States has never achieved the status it has in the UK where it is king. Nervous apples bobbing in a tub. Edgy metal vibrant fizz wrapped around a piece of strong sugar and toasted bread crumbs on a baked apple. (9/12/09)"

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(Disgorged 2012, a blend of 40% pinot noir and 60% chardonnay, 100% Bouzy terroir, 1250 cases, dosage 9 g/l.) Savès typically makes a relatively deeply colored rosé by the standards of the genre and this latest version is no exception. The cool and distinctly pinot nose also reflects notes of various red berry fruit aromas though notes of yeast are discernible. The delicious, intense and very crisp flavors are underpinned by a fine effervescence that is perfect for the mouth feel of a rosé that is actually much more vinous than most examples, in particular because there is a wonderfully savory quality to the long finish that practically begs for another sip. Lovely stuff that could be enjoyed now or aged, though it is so good presently that I doubt that a case would make it much past a year or so in my cellar. Drink: now+. (Jan 2013)"
93 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "A walkaway favorite in our tastings, this one smells of yeast, toast and all the bakeshop reminiscences that one expects of top Champers and adds in nuanced but evident suggestions of orange peel, Meyer lemon and strawberry. It is explosively bubbled and insistent and stays on the palate forever. This one competes well with the big names. (Dec 2010)"
92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The current release of Camille Savès Brut Rosé is a blend of sixty percent chardonnay and forty percent pinot noir from the village of Bouzy, with twelve percent of this being still pinot noir incorporated into the cuvée. The wine does not undergo malo and was disgorged in January of 2011. The new release is a lovely wine, with a classic deep salmon color and offering up a superb bouquet of blood orange, fraises du bois, bread dough, a nice hint of cinnamon, a beautifully complex base of soil and citrus zest. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and snappy, with fine nascent complexity, lovey focus and balance, very classy, pinpoint bubbles and outstanding length and grip on the elegant and youthful finish. This is eminently drinkable today, but based on how well the 2008 release of this wine evolved in my cellar, it is pretty hard not to argue that this wine would be best tucked away for a few more years to allow its secondary layers of complexity to emerge. It is quite clear that Camille Savès is one of the finest sources for Brut Rosé out there today. 2012-2030. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
92 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Dark pink. Heady, exotic scents of wild strawberry, raspberry and fresh rose, with bright citrus and intense mineral notes adding lift. Juicy red fruit flavors are given spine and focus by tangy acidity and pick up a deeper cherry quality and smoky minerality with air. Powerful but nimble, finishing with excellent clarity and stony cut. This Champagne’s blend of depth and minerally freshness is impressive. (Dec 2010)"
91 points Fine Wine Review: "Savès is in Bouzy, in the heart of Pinot Noir country, but this wine is 60% Chardonnay and 28% Pinot Noir with 12% still red wine added to it. The resulting wine is light and airy but incisive with wild strawberry flavors and aromas. It can serve either for aperitif or with food. (Issue #127; 2010)"

Taut, sharply focused citrus and orchard fruit flavors are underscored by a chalky mineral quality and given spine by tangy acidity. Closes bright and long, with resonating spiciness and floral character. This Champagne has barely budged since this time last year. (Nov/Dec 2012)"
93 points Anthony Dias Blue (The Tasting Panel): "[$95 list] Bright and juicy, crisp and elegant style; fresh and brilliant with refined texture and a long finish. (Jan 2013)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "[$95 list] Tightly knit, with racy acidity enlivening rich base notes of creamy brioche and hazelnut, while flavors of glazed apple, lemon meringue, apricot jam and ground ginger play on the lightly grained texture, with a dry, spicy finish. Drink now through 2022. (12/15/11)"
Richard Juhlin: "The neighbouring domain to Salon at Le Mesnil was established as long ago as 1760. It was previously closely linked with Lanson and in 1949 it was taken over by the Nonancourt family. Since Laurent-Perrier bought Salon in 1989, Delamotte has functioned as Salon's second label. Delamotte owns five hectares at Le Mesnil and has access to Salon's vineyards during the years when no Salon is produced. Didier Dupond runs both firms with great sensitivity and enthusiasm. Delamotte purchases 75 per cent of its grapes, mostly from Premier cru villages."

93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "It had been a year since I last crossed paths with a bottle of the ’06 Dhondt Vieilles Vignes, and the wine is blossoming nicely with an additional year of bottle age. All the vines for this particular cuvée were planted in 1949. The deep, complex and very refined nose wafts from the glass in a blend of pears, apple, crème patissière, complex, chalky minerality, bread dough and a topnote of orange peel. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and racy, with a rock solid core of fruit, elegant mousse, brisk acids and excellent length and grip on the still very youthful finish. The wine closes with a primary note of orange peel that suggests that even though this wine is decidedly more open than it was a year ago, this is still very early days for this fine bottling and further cellaring will definitely be rewarded. 2016-2030+. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "[$84 list] Aromatic, with fine harmony to the creamy flavors of apple pastry, glazed pear, anise, candied lemon zest and biscuit. The mineral undercurrent pushes through on the mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2021. 500 cases made. (12/15/11)"
92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A highly perfumed, yeasty and attractively complex nose of toasty citrus, dried flower and baked bread gives way to delicious, serious and highly effervescent flavors that culminate in an austere and very dry finish that delivers excellent length. For my taste, this still needs another 3 to 5 years of cellar time. Drink: 2014+. (Jan 2012)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The NV Brut Rose de Saignee is a big, rich wine loaded with fruit. This expansive, full-bodied Champagne offers terrific depth and richness, with a long, and exceptionally pure finish. Like all rose de saignee wines, this is best enjoyed at the dinner table. Make no mistake about it, this is a serious rose from Jose Dhondt. All the wine requires is a little advance aeration to show at its finest. The estate’s rose is made from Pinot Noir grown in Saudoy. No disgorgement date provided. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014. (Dec 2009)"
91 points Wine Spectator: "[$84 list] A vinous rosé Champagne, very dry and focused, with flavors of sour cherry, blackberry compote, mineral and freshly ground white pepper. The textured is very refined, but there's a lot of snap to the acidity here, giving this a vibrancy overall. Try with light food. Drink now through 2019. 400 cases made. (2011)"
91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(100% pinot noir): Dark pink. Deeply pitched red fruit and floral aromas lend a medicinal quality, complicated by notes of sassafras, star anise and botanical herbs. Spicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors expand in the mid-palate and pick up a note of licorice pastille. Blends richness and vivacity smoothly and finishes on a refreshingly bitter note. Viellissement Prolonge is Pinot Noir from Grand Cru vineyards in Bouzy, Ambonnay and Verzenay that spent 70 months on its lees. This is the most intense wine in the Egly-Ouriet line-up. White truffles, roasted nuts, honey and candied apricots are layered beautifully in this creamy, expansive Champagne. Early tertiary notes make this an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Disgorged May, 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2018. (Dec 2010)"
92 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(disgorged August, 2006 after 61 month on the lees) Yellow-gold. Explosively perfumed nose offers an exotic perfume of smoky apricot, orange, floral honey and toffeed nuts. Deep, rich pit fruit flavors are brightened by orange zest and floral qualities, with subtle toasty lees adding complexity. This is very wine-like, with a deep, chewy texture and a strong finish. For all its depth and power, this remains focused and impressively elegant. An excellent non-vintage Champagne. (Nov 2007)"
Importer notes: "This wine is Egly's treasure; with more than SIX YEARS on its lees, 'V.P.' (in French, 'extended aging') is a testament both to the greatness of his terroir and to his vision as an uncompromising Champagne artist. A blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, pulled from older vines in the three finest villages in the Montaigne de Reims."
Richard Juhlin: "This firm was established in 1930 and nowadays Michel Egly owns 7.7 hectares at Ambonnay, a third of a hectare at Bouzy and one and a half a hectare at Verzenay as well as 2 hectares Meunier in Vrigny. The average age of the vines is 35 years, with 60 years for the prestige wines. The wines are phenomenally great and rich. The grower is very close to gaining five stars through his fantastic development in recent years. Probably the foremost grower of Pinot Noir in the entire Champagne region nowadays..."

95 points The Tasting Panel: "Pale salmon pink; floral nose; smooth and juicy with raspberry, strawberry and lovely depth; elegant and sexy with balance, length and great style; pure and refined, classic. (Jan/Feb 2011)"
93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Prior to my visit to the house in March, I had no idea that Rosé bubblies played such a large role in Gosset’s yearly sales, but I guess I should have known, as this has consistently been a house specialty and people are not dumb! The current release of the Grande Rosé is another superb wine, wafting from the glass in a youthfully complex and classy blend of blood orange, a touch of melon, orange zest, stony minerality and bread dough. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with a fine core of fruit, utterly refined mousse, lovely focus and excellent length and grip on the poised and still quite primary finish. This will be even better with a year or two in the cellar, though it is already quite tasty in its youth. 2012-2025. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
92 points Wine News: "[$85 list] Light tangerine hue; steady effervescence and impressive mousse. Nose of dusty rose and light yeasty scents. Creamy flavors of orange peel, toast and citrus-tinged minerality. Tart tangerine and lemon-lime notes mark a slightly bitter finish. (Dec 2008/Jan 2009)"

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "A beautifully fine mousse indicates the class of this finely crafted wine. It has some weight, flavors of green apples, with hints of fresh apricots. There is extreme freshness here, the style dry but rich. This bottling tastes young and would be worth aging six months. (Dec 2009)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Well-structured and powered by firm acidity, this offers notes of glazed apple, black cherry, candied lemon zest and toasted brioche, with a lingering hint of mineral. Clean finish. Drink now through 2015. (12/15/12)"
91+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Henriot’s Brut Souverain bottling is the only cuvée here that customarily now includes a small percentage of pinot meunier in the blend, as the ostensibly half and half blend of pinot noir and chardonnay is augmented with three to five percent of pinot meunier, as the house now has a contract for pinot meunier fruit from a vineyard that they are extremely fond of at the very top of the Montagne de Reims. This is a bottling that I have become more and more impressed with each year that I taste it, as I have the feeling that it is seeing just a bit more bottle age in the cellar these days than was the case perhaps back when the Henriot family had just purchased Bouchard. The other possibility of course is that the relatively new inclusion of pinot meunier in this cuvée has made it more immediately impressive out of the blocks. In any case, the new release is
excellent, offering up a deep and youthfully complex nose of apple, tart orange, gentle notes of bread dough, fine minerality and a gentle touch of smokiness in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, crisp and complex, with a fine core of fruit, elegant mousse, and a long, crisp and focused finish. A lovely wine that will age very well indeed. 2012-2030. (Jul/Aug 2012)"

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "The discrete Henriot labeling is echoed in this elegant wine. Like so many Henriot Champagnes it has good bottle age, shows toast as well as light red fruits. There is a depth of flavor here, the texture of yeasty mousse and apple skins going right through the taste. Ready to drink, but worth aging. (Dec 2009)"
92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The current release of the Henriot Brut Rosé is primarily based on fruit from the 2006 vintage and is already drinking beautifully. This pale, salmon-colored Rosé offers up a superb nose of wild strawberries, cherries, chalky minerality, bread dough and a floral topnote redolent of apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and utterly refined, with a fine core of fruit, very elegant mousse, crisp acids and fine focus and grip on the perfectly poised, balanced and dancing finish. While Henriot is not particularly renowned for the quality of their Rosé bottlings, based on the fireworks I have tasted from this superb house in the last few years, it is pretty hard not to come to the conclusion that this is one of the Grande Marques that specializes these days in Brut Rosé and Henriot should be ranked right up there with Laurent-Perrier and Billecart-Salmon as one of the finest producers of Rosé Champagne. A lovely wine. 2011-2030. (Jul/Aug 2011)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "[$70 list] Smoky, with notes of toasted hazelnut and brioche enriching kirsch, black currant candy and dried apricot flavor. Tightly knit and lively, with fine texture and a firm, focused finish. Drink now through 2020. (11/15/12)"
92 points Wine & Spirits: "[$70 list] The color of a golden raspberry, this is a delicious essence of fruit, its fresh berry flavors and high-toned apple skin crispness bright enough to lift your mood. Lovely intensity and a high yum factor for drinking now. (Dec 2011)"
92 points The Tasting Panel: "[$70 list] Fresh and tangy with spice and ripe berry fruit; classic style with great balance and length; stylish and vibrant. (Jan/Feb 2012)"
91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "($70 list; there is an addition of up to 25% reserve wines from a number of different vintages in the Champagne Henriot library). A high-toned and relatively fruity nose of raspberry, strawberry and hint of red pinot fruit give way to delicious and really quite fine detailed and utterly delicious flavors that possess a refined mouth feel. The bead is notably fine and very restrained, which imparts an understated character to the crisp and agreeably dry finish. Lovely. Drink: now+. (Jun 2012)"
'Gold Medal,' Decanter: "(12% alcohol) Classy, toasty, mature aromas and some hazelnut notes. Fine and fresh, with lively acidity, fuller, creamier style with lovely soft bubbles and hints of redcurrant fruit. (Oct 2010)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "A smoke-tinged powerhouse, with a minerally undertow and firm acidity, offering refined texture and a subtle range of ground spice, ripe plum, whole-grain toast, crystallized honey and candied lemon zest notes. The creamy finish shows a hint of savory fleur de sel. Drink now through 2027. (12/31/12)"
93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2002 Lanson Gold Label is comprised of a fifty-fifty blend of chardonnay and pinot noir, sourced from some of the very best villages for each grape on the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. It is aged a minimum of five years on the lees prior to disgorgement. The 2002 Gold Label is stunning, as the ripeness of the vintage beautifully dovetails with the non-malo style of Lanson and the wine offers up a deep and very pure bouquet of apple, tangerine, lovely minerality, brioche, smoke and a floral topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and beautifully balanced, with superb focus and grip, very elegant, pinpoint bubbles, fine cut and outstanding length on the classy finish. This is really a superb bottle in the making. 2012-2040+. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "($85 list; 51% pinot noir and 49% chardonnay): Light, bright yellow-gold. Aromas of Meyer lemon, pear, chalky minerals and chamomile, with subtle anise and sweet butter nuances in the background. At once fleshy and focused, offering intense candied citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a touch of sweet butter. Finishes spicy and very long, with lingering floral and citrus notes and excellent clarity. This Champagne is approachable now but I'll bet that it will be even better in three to five years. Lanson's wines age extremely well, by the way. (Nov/Dec 2012)"
93 points The Tasting Panel: "Toasty and vibrant with racy fruit and juicy acidity; vivid and balanced with elegance and style; refined and deep. (Jan 2013)"
92 points (potential) Richard Juhlin (Sep 2011).
The Finest Wines of Champagne: "Lanson is one of the oldest Champagne houses. Founded in 1730, this proud family firm had a deserved reputation until the early 1990s for its distinctive, uncompromising, but unquestionably fine style of Champagne--full-bodied, bracingly dry, and with enough richness and vinosity in its Vintage wines to match fine cuisine... the house has been lucky to retain the Lanson family's chef de cave, Jean-Paul Gandon, who has been with them since the 1970s... At Lanson, he has done a remarkable job since 1991, and there has been a real renaissance in the wines... Lanson's best wine, I believe, is its vintaged Gold Label--not, as it happens, the most expensive Champagne in the range. A classic 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay... it has a pleasing austerity on the nose but superb depth, minerality, and presence on the palate."

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "This is a relatively new cuvée from Lanson that has been aged fully for five years in the cellar prior to release and hails exclusively from grand cru vineyards. The wine is a blend of sixty percent pinot noir and forty percent chardonnay. Extra Age is always a blend of at least three different vintages, with this current release based on wines from the 2000, 2002 and 2004 vintages. Given the house style which eschews malolactic fermentation, this new bottling is a very logical extension of the Lanson line and the wine is outstanding, jumping from the glass in a complex and very beautiful blend of green apple, tart orange, wheat toast, smoky overtones and a beautifully complex base of stony minerality. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and broad-shouldered, with superb mid-palate depth, crisp acids, very refined mousse and outstanding length and grip on the wide open and zesty finish. Fine, fine juice. 2012-2030. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Creamy, textured wine, with a lively mousse and a balance of fine toasty age and fresh citrus fruits. It shows a dry character, firm and mineral, very textured with the weight to make it a food Champagne. Alcohol 12.5%. (Dec 2011)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Racy and well-cut, with a fine, lightly chalky texture supporting notes of pastry dough, cassis, graphite and toasted almond. An elegant version, with some power behind the graceful form. Drink now through 2020. 400 cases imported. (12/31/12)"
Producer notes: "40% Chardonnay, 60% Pinot Noir. A cuvée of vintages 2000, 2002 and 2004. Lanson Extra Age X.A. Brut presents an attractive straw-yellow color with fine bubbles. On the nose, yellow fruit and dried fruit notes blend with scents of honey, biscuit and mild spices, developing a powerful and complex aromatic palette. The attack is fleshy, the body full and rich, and the finish crisp and fresh."

2-3 stars Peter Liem, ChampagneGuide.net: "This edition of Le Cotet is 90 percent 2006, with the remainder coming from bottles of 2004 and 2002 that were disgorged and decanted into the blend, and about one-tenth of the 2006 portion was vinified in barrel. It's classic Le Cotet in profile, feeling racy and lively, its citrusy flavors quietly infused by chalky minerality. Thriving on its finesse, it demonstrates a lovely tension and energy from start to finish, and while it seems to indicate potential for further development, it's so inviting to drink now. The 2 g/l of dosage is perfectly judged. Last tasted: 2/10."

92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 1997 Lebrun Servenay is a lovely bottle that tastes to me as if it has a significant percentage of the final blend that has been barrel fermented, but this may also simply be the characteristic of the ’97 vintage. The nose is deep and showing lovely secondary layers of complexity in its mélange of ripe apple, pear, wheat toast, lovely soil tones that are redolent of both chalkiness and wet stones, a bit of crème patissière and spring flowers. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and focused, with a lively core of fruit, lovely framing acids, refined bubbles, and impressive length and grip on the complex, soil-driven finish. This is a classic example of the Côte de Blancs, and is most impressive for a 1997 vintage wine. I would opt for drinking this fine wine over the relative near-term, as it is in full bloom and drinking beautifully. 2007-2012+? (May/Jun 2007)"
91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Light gold with a fine, steady bead. Suave floral and minerally bouquet offers ripe apple, yellow plum and a whiff of bitter cherry pit. Fleshy orchard fruit flavors are sharpened by zesty mineral bite, picking up a gentle honey quality with air. Intriguingly complex Champagne, combining supple white and yellow fruit character with firm minerality, and finishing with gentle grip and impressive length. Here's another winner from the often-neglected 1997 vintage. (Nov/Dec 2007)"

92 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(from the grand cru Chouilly) Light, bright yellow. Intense, mineral-driven bouquet of lime, orange pith, green apple and chalk, with a sexy floral quality gaining power with air. The minerality repeats on the palate, which offers vivid citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a subtle smoky quality that builds on the back end. Impressively complex blanc de blancs with excellent finishing cut and thrust. (Nov/Dec 2008)"
