93 points Wine Spectator: "[$55 list] Plush and enticing, with delicious layers of plum sauce, fig bread, black tea and mulled spice notes that pump through the velvety, dark finish. Fresh, well-embedded acidity stretches it all out. Drink now through 2027. 1,665 cases made. (10/15/09)"
93 points Rhone Report: "Almost always the most forward and fruit driven of the Cuvées, the single vineyard 2007 Domaine de la Charbonnière Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Mourre des Perdrix comes from the south east part of the Appellation and the Mourre des Perdrix lieu-dit. A blend of 69% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah, and dash of Cinsault, it delivers an upfront, fruit-driven profile with black cherries, raspberries, melted licorice, violets, sappy underbrush, and roasted meat like qualities literally soaring from the glass. Full-bodied and thrillingly rich and decadent on the palate, with a seamless, polished texture, beautiful freshness, and a classic finish, this is drinking beautifully, with an easy 12-15 years of total evolution. It will be interesting to see if this ever shuts down; at the moment, it needs an hour of air to truly shine and is a real treat. (Mar 2012)"
92 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "[$55 list] Saturated ruby. Sexy dark berry and kirsch aromas, along with notes of potpourri, fruitcake and garrigue Broad, palate-staining blackberry and boysenberry flavors are framed by velvety tannins and pick up suave floral pastille and Asian spice character with air. The very fresh finish leaves vibrant berry skin and spice notes behind. (Jan/Feb 2010)"
91+ points Robert Parker: "The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Mourre des Perdrix exhibits plenty of pepper, lavender, raspberry, black currant, and floral characteristics. Full-bodied with moderate tannin, superb depth and purity, and a broad, compelling, 40-second finish, it requires 2-3 years of bottle age, and should keep for 15-20 years. (Oct 2009)"

95-96 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "[$250 list] I tasted this wine in three components from stainless steel tanks, where it was awaiting bottling this winter. #1: Red berries and flowers on the nose, with strong mineral and floral notes and Asian spices. #2: More masculine and brooding, offering deep cherry compote and blackcurrant scents and suggestions of licorice and black cardamom. Smoky dark fruit flavors are framed by chewy tannins and pick up sweeter red berry qualities with air. The finish is sweet and penetrating, with a strong echo of black raspberry. #3: Fresh raspberry and cherry on the nose, with notes of smoked meat, minerals and violet. Supple, mineral-laced red fruit flavors are joined by allspice and violet pastille on the back. Very fresh sample with strong finishing lift and spiciness. Looks to be an excellent wine that will provide plenty of pleasure on the (relatively) young side. (Jan/Feb 2010)"
95 points Wine Spectator: "Tight but already alluring, with gorgeous fig cake and warm cocoa aromas slowly yielding to a dark, dense core of plum, blueberry, hoisin sauce, currant reduction and maduro tobacco. Muscular but supervelvety, with a long finish. There’s very impressive density for the vintage. Best from 2011 through 2026. 500 cases imported. (7/7/10)"
95 points Robert Parker: "[$250 list] The spectacular 2007 Hermitage boasts a dense purple color along with notes of creme de cassis, loamy soil, crushed rocks and acacia flowers, a rare opulence and a full-bodied style. Reminiscent of the 1991 Hermitage (a great vintage for Chave as well as most top producers in Hermitage), it should drink well for 20-25 years. (Feb 2011)"
95 points Rhone Report: "More fresh and lithe than the '06, the 2007 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage displays gorgeous aromatics of cassis and blacker styled fruits, charred steak, a touch of flowers, and beautifully integrated oak on the nose. Fleshing out with additional air, the wine has an overall elegant, finesse style that's backed up by good concentration, plenty of tannin, and a focused, silky finish. While approachable now, this should be cellared for 4-6 years and then consumed over the following decade. (Mar 2011)"

90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Bright red. Spicy blackcurrant and licorice aromas are complemented by potpourri and smoky minerals and perked up by a hint of black pepper. Deep in dark fruit flavor but in no way heavy, with silky tannins adding support. Gains power on the back end and finishes with lingering notes of kirsch and dark berries. (Jan/Feb 2010)"

88 points Wine Spectator: "Round and juicy, with a jammy hint to plum, red currant and blackberry fruit flavors that are laid over a licorice-filled finish. Drink now. 200 cases imported. (2009)"
87 points Rhone Report: "An even split of Grenache and Syrah, the 2007 Domaine Constant-Duquesnoy Cotes du Rhone Villages Lou Combaou is a solid southern Rhone that displays loads of sappy garrigue, spiced cherries, mineral, and licorice to go with a medium-bodied, juicy, and edgy palate. There.s a serious kick of acidity here, as well as a firm, edgy core that should soften over the coming year. It should continue to drink well for 3-5 years. (Mar 2012)"

96 points Rhone Report: "The modern styled 2007 Domaine de la Solitude Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réserve Secrète is a blend of 55% Syrah and 45% Grenache that was aged in a combination of small oak barrel and tank. It sports straight-up phenomenal aromatics, as well as crazy purity, with notions of black cherry, tobacco, smoked meats, and chocolate that literally comes leaping out of the glass. This is followed by a full bodied, structured wine that is perfectly balanced, possesses beautifully ripe fruit, and a classic, very long, and mineral-laced finish. Count me as a fan. This should benefit from 5-7 years in the cellar and then drink well for 12-15 years after that. (Jun 2011)"
95+ points Robert Parker: "A wine that seems to bridge the gap between a full international style (such as the Barberini) and a traditional style (such as the Cornelia Constanza) is the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve Secrete, which was aged in small barrels (65%) and tanks (35%). A blend of 55% Syrah and 45% Grenache, it boasts a deep ruby/purple hue, massive, powerful flavors of black fruits, licorice, acacia flowers, and a hint of toast, full body, and a singular, dense personality. It needs 3-4 years of bottle age, and is meant for 20+ years of cellaring. (Oct 2009)"
94 points Wine Spectator: "Big, lush and mouthfilling, but with excellent definition, thanks to a nice graphite edge that holds the core of anise, roasted plum, hoisin sauce and macerated black currant fruit together. The long, powerful finish lets bittersweet cocoa and violet notes chime in. Syrah and Grenache. Best from 2012 through 2025. 291 cases made. (5/19/10)"
93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "($225 list; a 55/45 blend of syrah and grenache) Bright violet color. Fresh raspberry and boysenberry on the nose, with complementary notes of spicecake, incense and lavender. Large-scaled but surprisingly lively in the mouth, offering sweet red and dark berry compote flavors and penetrating minerality and spiciness. Very suave and focused on the finish, with the dark berry and floral notes echoing. (Jan/Feb 2010)"

95 points Rhone Report: "I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this domaine's 2007s are fantastic! This was the second time I've been able to taste side by side, both the Vieilles Vignes and the traditional Cuvee, from both '07 and '06, and both times, the '07s seem fresher, more vibrant, and with better overall aromatics. In fact, this was the best showing I've had for the straight Chateauneuf-du-Pape and it continues to show brilliant aromatics of raspberries, licorice, flowers and spice, full body, sweet, decadent fruit and a super long, silky finish. This is still available at a reasonable price and should continue to drink beautifully over the next 15+ years. (Aug 2010)"
94 points Robert Parker: "The outstanding 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape (a blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 7% Syrah, and 3% Cinsault that achieved 16.5% natural alcohol) exhibits a dark ruby/purple color in addition to a sumptuous bouquet of black fruits, scorched earth, lavender, truffles, and licorice. The wine reveals the vintage’s gorgeous freshness and vibrancy as well as sensational concentration, and a tremendous finish. It can be drunk young or cellared for 15+ years. (Oct 2009)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "[$71 list] Ripe and winey, with a solid core of mulled currant, crushed raspberry and bramble notes laced with hints of ganache, incense and black tea. The finish is long, solid and authoritative. Should blossom in the cellar. Best from 2010 through 2020. (11/15/09)"
93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(80% grenache, 10% mourvedre, 7% syrah and 3% cinsault) Sexy, expressive scents of black raspberry, star anise, lavender and smoky minerals. Lively red and dark berry flavors are given a refreshingly bitter edge by a note of cherry skin, turning deeper and spicier with air. The finish is broad, sappy and impressively powerful, leaving sweet red and dark berry compote notes behind. This is drinking surprisingly well for such a young wine but it also has the depth to repay patience. (Jan/Feb 2010)"
4 stars, Highly Recommended Decanter: "Juicy, pure red fruits -- almost Pinot-esque. Silky tannins and a balanced, spicy finish. From 2010. (Dec 2010)"

'Recommended,' Decanter: "Ample, blackberry fruit, hint of earth and game. Ripe, good, breezy drinking. Modest, late tannins. Enjoy now. Drink from 2010. (7/27/10)"
WHWC Staff Notes: "I was really excited to try this wine, as it is from the legendary 2007 vintage, which is pretty much gone from the marketplace, especially wines in this price range. Also, it is from Redortier, a producer that has consistently released fantastic wines when they reach their prime. The blend on this vintage is 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 5% Counoise. A co-worker and I pulled the cork on one and were both blown away. It takes a few minutes to really open up, but once it does, it sings! The flowery, medium-toned Grenache is hidden behind balanced, rich dark fruit and subtle minerality. Underneath is a nuance of the classic Beaumes-de-Venise black pepper. The acid is well-poised and keeps the wine fresh and lively on the palate, while the tannins are soft and integrated, contributing to the structure but not dominating it. This is a really fantastic bottle of Rhône that you could drink now, or hang onto for a few more years. It won't be around very long, so order some while you can." - Casey Carmichael

90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "[$45 list] Bright ruby. Spicy, mineral-driven aromas of red berries, spicecake and lavender are alluringly pure and focused. A racy, sweet midweight that offers juicy strawberry and raspberry flavors, with silky tannins adding support. The floral quality echoes through the persistent, spicy, tannin-free finish. This is drinking well right now. (Jan/Feb 2010)"
90 points Robert Parker: "A blend of 80% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Cinsault from 50-year-old vines, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Olivets is a beautiful sleeper of the vintage. This sexy, full-bodied wine possesses a dark plum/purple color, abundant aromas of pepper, lavender, forest floor, and roast beef, a lush, layered style, and 10-12 years of drinkability. (Oct 2009)"
90 points Wine Spectator: "[$45 list] An elegant, stylish version, with mulled red cherry and red currant fruit hanging gracefully through the tea-, sandalwood- and mineral-infused finish. Nice latent grip checks in at the very end. Drink now through 2019. 1,965 cases made. (11/15/09)"
90 points Rhone Report: "Smooth and polished, the 2007 Roger Sabon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Olivets is primarily (80%) Grenache and shows sweet blackberry and kirsch fruit, toasted bread and spice aromas that carry into a medium bodied, textured palate. The wine displays the freshness of the vintage and shows beautiful precision on the long finish. Drink over the next 10 years. (Aug 2009)"

93 points Rhone Report: "Showing even better than on release, the 2007 Château de Vaudieu Châteauneuf-du-Pape (a blend of 80% concrete aged Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre) is one hedonistic, gorgeously fruited 2007 that boasts knockout aromatics of crème de cassis, black raspberries, licorice, lavender, smoked herbs, and roasted meat like aromas on the nose. Full-bodied and seamless on the palate, with a rich, decadent mouth feel, beautiful balance, and a blockbuster finish, this serious stuff is approachable now due to the wealth of fruit, yet will be even better in 2-3 years, and have upwards of 15+ years of longevity. A steal at the current prices! (Mar 2012)"
92 points Robert Parker: "The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is a full-bodied, exceptionally aromatic effort displaying plenty of sweet black cherry, licorice, garrigue, and earth as well as a subtle note of oak in a full-bodied, opulent style. As the wine sits in the glass, whiffs of raspberries and figs also emerge from this substantial, fleshy, irresistible Chateauneuf du Pape. Enjoy it over the next 10-15 years. (Oct 2009)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "This is saturated, with braised fig, melted black licorice and freshly brewed espresso notes forming the core, with bittersweet ganache, mesquite and iron notes weaving through the background. The long, tarry finish has really nice drive. A domaine on the rise. Drink now through 2022. (11/15/09)"
