91 points The Tasting Panel: "It certainly has shelf presence, from its handcrafted round crystal bottle of texturized glass resembling an armadillo, to its artisanal braided rope neck. The salty, herbal entry is one of the more unique plata expressions I have tasted; basil and sage meander through lime and cooked agave. With a full body framed by sleek mineral tones, this high mountain region tequila is a spicy, exotic creature. (Jul 2012)"
Producer notes: "Aroma: Mixture of fruits and cooked agave; hints of flowers, as well as, fruit vapors of citrus and subtle vanilla notes. Taste: Citrus fruits with agave at the back with a long sweet finish."

Color: Pale straw, with brilliant tones and gold highlights. Aroma: Fresh mixture of fruits and cooked agave; fruit aromas such as pineapple, pear and banana stand out. Its aging in barrels is delicate, adding subtle vanilla and caramel notes. Body: Silky and smooth profile with well balanced body with a sleek texture on the palate. Named to the Spirit Journal's '140 Best Five Star Spirits in the World for 2012 (#67)': "A fabulous expression of how well tequila can age in oak for a moderate period. The caramel notes in the aroma speak volumes about the careful wood management. Frankly, I like having El Tesoro Añejo in a margarita because the wood aspect isn't overpowering and I find that the soft, rounded agave flavor still comes through the Cointreau and lime juice. A breathtaking beauty. (Jun 2012)"
****Highest Recommendation, F. Paul Pacult (Spirit Journal): "Tidy, green/straw color; superb purity. The lively elegant nose shows traces of mushrooms, dried herbs and lead pencil; six more minutes of aeration stir deeper scents, including mustard seed, oak, vanilla bean, and toffee. The palate entry is sublimely rich yet focused; at midpalate the taste profile offers succulent, brandy/cognac-like flavors of oak resin, almond butter, and tobacco leaf. Finishes semisweet, sherry-like and smooth as a baby's bottom. A classic."

With its golden straw color, Excellia Reposado reveals a complex nose mixing honey, toasted wood, mushroom, dried lavender, jasmine and violet notes. The nine months ageing in grand cru Sauternes wine casks and cognac barrels provide a round and extensive mouthfeel with rich honey, cigar-box, and caramelized-agave/pumpkin notes mixed with subtle rancio and orchard fruits. The finish is long and satisfying with spicy and earthy notes. Respecting the characteristics of a tequila from "Los Altos", Excellia reveals stunning and innovative aromas thanks to its unique ageing.
