92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Golden honey color. The aroma is a pleasing mix of caramel and faint smoke. Bold, oaky flavors, rich feel and beautiful, lingering butterscotch finish with a faint whisper of smoke and just the right amount of bite. Sip over ice. (Mar 2011)"
'Recommended,' F. Paul Pacult (Spirit Journal): "Pale hue is the silvery/green color of oyster shell/fino sherry; excellent clarity. Smells faintly of flower garden deep into the growing season, meaning muted, earthy, and vegetal; further time in the glass allows for deeper aromas, especially grain, malt, flax, and oak to emerge. Entry is nimble in its supreme lightness and gently sweet; the midpalate stage displays a bit more profundity in the grain depth and flavor length. Ends up delectably sweet, easy, smooth, and better than average. Though hardly complex and to some perhaps frightfully rudimentary, it deserves a recommendation for its lovely, no-brainer drinkability. (2007)"
Kilbeggan is a uniquely Irish whiskey. Like most Irish people, Kilbeggan is easy going and approachable, but with its own distinctive style. The finest grain and malt whiskeys are blended together for the smooth, sweet taste and lovely malty finish that is Kilbeggan Irish whiskey.

93 points and 'Top 50 Spirits 2012,' Wine Enthusiast: "From county Cork comes this bartender favorite. Look for a vibrant golden color and enticing honeysuckle and buttery brioche aroma. This whiskey feels soft and sets the mouth watering with lightly smoky notes tapering off to jazzy layers of honey, dried fruit, cinnamon and ginger. abv: 40%. (Mar 2012)"
Medium amber hue; some sediment spotted. The initial couple of sniffings within three minutes of the pour reveal dry to off-dry scents of butterscotch, maple, and oak; additional time in the glass allows for more and deeper aromas to emerge, most prominent are peanut butter, road tar, beans (as in, legumes) and dry breakfast cereal; a complete, complex bouquet that keeps unfolding with aeration. The palate entry tastes are full-bodied and significantly sweeter and oilier than the aroma; the midpalate stage displays a beany, oily, buttered popcorn flavor profile that's really delicious and robust. The aftertaste is long, warming, and oily, with a trace of sweet oak. Something of a cult legend in Ireland; a dandy example of pure pot still whiskey. Highly Recommended!
