89 points Wine Spectator: "Shows bright, lively red and black currant fruit, with racy spice and graphite notes. Fresh and open-knit on the finish, but keeps your interest. Drink now through 2015. (2012)"
88 points Robert Parker: "[$25 list] The basic cuvee, the 2009 Arnauton, is 98% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. It exhibits loads of crushed chalky minerality, some jammy berry fruit, good glycerin, medium body, and a clean, fresh, lively finish. It is a little less complex than I’d hoped, but still a fine effort. (Feb 2012)"

89-91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2011 Zinfandel is a screaming value. Sweet, layered and impeccably balanced, the 2011 is gorgeous from the very first taste. Hints of sweet tobacco, cedar, licorice and dark red cherries all take shape in the glass. This mid-weight, gracious Zinfandel is impeccable. Even better, it is a steal. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "What makes this particular vintage so good? Consider the vineyards that compose over 90% of this wine -- Fanucchi (planted in 1906), Carlisle (planted in 1927), Rowe (planted in 1906), Rossi (planted in 1910), and Bedrock (planted in 1888). All of these vineyards are designates in their own right. With the exception of Rossi, all contain significant mixed blacks. If you’re a fan of high quality, old-vine Zinfandel at a bargain price, back the truck up. Serious folks, take advantage of my lack of sanity. No one should be selling a wine this good for so little. 677 cases produced. Tasting Note: Medium-dark ruby-garnet. A classic 'zin-berry' (raspberry, cherry) aroma is highlighted by notes of briary spice and black pepper. Smooth and full-bodied on entry, a wave of red fruits envelops the palate while refined tannins build through the finish. The texture and precision of this wine is simply amazing! Drink now. Drink next year. Drink all the way until 2018! No matter what you do, you can’t go wrong!"

89 points Stephen Tanzer (Internaitonal Wine Cellar): "(from 80-year-old vines) Good full red-ruby. Plum, mocha and herbs on the nose, with leafy and peppery nuances. Deeper and more tannic than the malbec, showing the slightly herbaceous complexity of cabernet from the Medoc. These tannins will require some bottle aging but this wine has the stuffing to support it. Michael Rolland consults for this very promising new venture... (Jan/Feb 2011)"

Marsannay Rosé is unique in that Marsannay is the only village appellation in Burgundy that offers the full range of white, red and rosé wines. Bruno Clair's rosé is part of its family history since the owner's grandfather, after returning from the war in 1919, had the idea to vinify the grapes of Pinot Noir into rosé wine for the first time. The success of this original wine was such that it became a specialty of the commune and acquired a certain amount of fame, which spread across France. The characteristics of this rosé are its fruitiness and unique flavors of Pinot Noir.

Producer notes: "The 2009 Tous Ensemble Pinot is an embodiment of the earthy, sweet beet root undertones that are indicative of Anderson Valley Pinot. Medium bodied with vibrant dark red fruits on the nose and palate, it delivers pure, focused flavors with a great lift on the finish from the acidity. Perfect to drink now or over the next 5-7 years. Alcohol 12.9%."
Not yet reviewed; 2009 vintage rated 90 points by International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby. Subtly aromatic nose of cherry, mocha, cinnamon and musky herbs. Smooth and expressive, with dark cherry and spice flavors and an appealing pliant texture. Nicely concentrated and seamless, with very good finishing breadth and cling. Aeration allows this wine to stretch out so give it an hour or so in a decanter if it's on your upcoming drinking list. (May/Jun 2011)"

93 points PinotReport: "[$55/750ml list] Medium-deep ruby color; deep, complex, cranberry and cherry aromas with complex spice and earthy notes; rich, ripe, deep, complex cherry flavors with spicy cranberry and earthy notes; silky, sweet oak; good structure and balance; long finish. Deep, complex Pinot with great flavor. Needs more time to develop. (1/15/12)"
90 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "[$55/750ml list] Good bright dark red. Black raspberry, cherry, cola, pepper and flowers on the nose. Creamy and ripe on entry, then firmer in the middle, with lovely perfume and energy to the flavors of raspberry, cranberry, rose petal, brown spices and minerals. Juicy but substantial pinot noir, finishing with piquant pepper and herb notes from vinification with a portion of the stems?? A good deal of juice was declassified into the winery's Fogdog label to protect the quality of this wine. (May/Jun 2011)"
90 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$55/750ml list] So brisk in acidity, you can taste the ocean winds that chill this coastal vineyard at night. It’s also extraordinarily ripe. Few Pinot Noirs get this fruity. Floods the mouth with the essence of raspberries and cherries. The acidity and a firm minerality give it much needed structure. Alcohol 14%. (Sep 2011)"
'Very good (+),' PinotFile: "[$55/750ml list] 14.0% alc. 100% estate-grown from Pastorale and Quarter Moon vineyards. Aged 14 months in 60% new and 40% 2 to 3-year-old French oak barrels. Moderate reddish-purple color in the glass. Lovely aromas of black cherries, exotic spice, brier and cut flowers with a slight hint of tobacco smoke, picking up interest and intensity over time in the glass. Black cherry-driven flavors with pleasing oak and whole cluster spice, slightly dwarfed at this stage by oak. Like cherry pie day at cooking school - cherries, baking spices and very interesting results. A solid wine that will improve in the cellar due to its impeccable structure. (5/16/11)"

Importer notes: "100% Chenin Blanc. The terroir of Montlouis offers great advantages for producing fine, well-balanced, complex Chenin Blanc wine. Using only indigenous yeast, the wine is fermented in tank to accentuate freshness and then aged in 300L French oak barrels for around 12 months. This Montlouis expresses lovely notes of white fruits and white flowers that create a great sensation on the palate. The wine is dry but has a particular richness. Only truly great Loire wines are under FX Barc's selection and signature. Alcohol 13%."

Gallura is a peninsula on the northeast corner of the island of Sardinia that specializes in Vermentino (the grape is also grown on the coast of mainland Italy, on Corsica and in the south of France under the name Rolle). Mancini's version of the grape is very fresh and forward, made with no oak or malolactic fermentation, just grape juice fermented at low temperature in stainless steel for the aromas. Pale yellow color; aroma of peach, tangerine and herbs; medium-weight in the mouth, with bright acidity; very clean, good length, finishes with a touch of tangerine. Drink either as an aperitif or with seafood (prawns with pasta).

Producer notes: "Sophisticated and polished, this wine reflects its mature, low-yielding vineyard components. The aroma is bursting with lychee fruit, fig, guava and ripe pear. This solid fruit core is wrapped in a mantle of subtle, creamy oak, with just a touch of minerality. In the mouth, it shows a vibrant, mouthwatering acidity with a hint of pink grapefruit on the smooth finish."
Not yet reviewed; 2010 vintage rated 93 points by California Grapevine: "Medium-light yellow; attractive, slightly buttery, floral, melon and peach aroma with hints of grapefruit and a trace of minerality; medium-full body; fairly rich and fleshy in the mouth with a silky mouthfeel and flavors of melon, white peach, citrus, and sweet oak; lingering aftertaste. A very appealing and stylish wine with some complexity and elegance. Very highly recommended. 14.1% alcohol; 100% Sauvignon Blanc (including 33% of the Sauvignon Musqué clone); 100% barrel fermented; 0% malolactic fermentation; released April 2011."

50% Grenache, 35% Cinsault, 15% Tibouren. This rosé is one of the finest wines of the Côtes de Provence appellation. With its magnificent location in the center of the Saint-Tropez peninsula, the Minuty Château was acquired by the Matton-Farnet family in 1936. This vineyard gained "Cru Classe" status in 1955 and has remained one of Provence's flagship estates ever since. Its 65 hectares are traditionally cultivated (no herbicides, no pesticides) to allow the full expression of traditional Provence varieties in the terroir of this exceptionally sunny region. Truly the taste of summer, this light, refreshing and versatile wine pairs well with light fare, from pastas, cheeses, grilled seafood, poultry and pork as well as seasonal vegetable dishes.

90 points Wine Spectator: "[$28 list] Refined and elegant, offering pure and concentrated flavors of dried red berry, tangerine and melon. The focused finish features flint and spice notes, with a hint of cream. Drink now. (6/15/13)"
This wiine is the first release from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Provence estate, Château Miraval, and is possibly the most anticipated release of a rosé ever seen. Made in partnership with the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel and featuring a distinctive Champagne punt design, it comes from a blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah and Rolle (aka Vermentino). It was made using a combination of direct pressing and the saignée method and vinified primarily in stainless vats. Roughly 5% was fermented in oak barrels to give the wine added richness. All grapes for this wine are grown using organic techniques.

90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(75% grenache blanc and 25% clairette): Pale gold. Ripe pear and jasmine aromas are complicated by licorice and white pepper. Broad, fleshy and dry, with very good depth and grip to its orchard fruit and lemon rind flavors. Expands nicely on the finish, which features notes of honeysuckle and bitter quinine. This wine will be extremely flexible at the table. (Jan/Feb 2012)"
89 points Rhone Report: "A quality Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, the 2009 Perrin & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Les Sinards is a blend of 75% Grenache Blanc and 25% Clairette. It exhibits a light, yet classy bouquet of white peach, lemon rind, hay, subtle honey, and fennel that carry into medium-bodied, elegant white that has good richness, juicy acidity, and plenty of length on the finish. It can be consumed now, or cellared for 5-6 years. (Mar 2012)"

Fiano di Avellino is one of Italy's best white wines, made from the Fiano variety near the town of Avellino in the region of Campania. Ciro Picariello practices very natural grapegrowing and winemaking, yet his wines are completely clean and expressive which isn’t always a given with natural winemaking. The wine shows vivid, distinctive aromas and flavors of almond, herbs, citrus, and an enticing smokey/struck flint character from volcanic soil.
Not yet reviewed; 2010 vintage awarded Three Glasses by Gambero Rosso: "Fewer than ten harvests bottled were enough for Ciro and Rita Picariello to become a must-visit stop for fans of Fiano di Avellino in its ruggedest, most concenttrated interpretations... Characteristics of weight and flavour are further accented by hands-off vinification, using minimal malo, stainless-steel ageing and release about a year after harvest. These wines are slow to open. Don't expect explosive noses or plates that are on top form straight away..."
