88 points Wine Spectator: "Round and juicy, with a jammy hint to plum, red currant and blackberry fruit flavors that are laid over a licorice-filled finish. Drink now. 200 cases imported. (2009)"
87 points Rhone Report: "An even split of Grenache and Syrah, the 2007 Domaine Constant-Duquesnoy Cotes du Rhone Villages Lou Combaou is a solid southern Rhone that displays loads of sappy garrigue, spiced cherries, mineral, and licorice to go with a medium-bodied, juicy, and edgy palate. There.s a serious kick of acidity here, as well as a firm, edgy core that should soften over the coming year. It should continue to drink well for 3-5 years. (Mar 2012)"

87 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "An abundance of dark berry fruit meets a strong aura of game and firm underlying tannins, resulting in a low-toned, slightly-chewy, but satisfyingly, sweetly ripe finish. Enjoy this 2009 over the coming year. (Aug 2010)"

88 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "The Dirler-Cade 2005 Pinot Cuvee Vieilles Vignes is true Pinot Blanc (or Klevner, as it is often locally known) with not a drop of Auxerrois. Apple and citrus dominate in the nose and mouth, with a hint of apple seed bitterness balanced by a subtle hint of sweetness, and a creamy, chalky, yet clear-fruited finish. (Jul/Aug 2007)" Organic/biodynamic since 2002 (certified by Biodyvin).

87 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "The wines are also released at a leisurely pace, so that Domaine Aux Moines’s 2006 Savennieres - Roche Aux Moines represents their current release... offers a fascinating combination of peach, citrus oils, raw mushroom, and alkaline, wet stone suggestions of things mineral. In the mouth, this is richly peachy with prominent citrus oil and peach kernel bitterness. It preserves more than a modicum of fresh fruit juiciness... I would plan to serve this wine over the next couple of years. (Aug 2010)"
Producer notes: "Our Estate offers a single dry vintage wine: the 'Domaine aux Monies'. This is a dry white wine, made from 100% Chenin Blanc grown on a clay shale terroir, with excellent ageability."

From the Altesse varietal, Jacquin's Roussette de Savoie Marestel is another delicious, thirst-quenching wine from Savoie, this time with more body than Jacquère or Chasselas, and more subtle aromas than Roussanne. Quince, flowers, apricot and a touch of honey rise from the medium-bodied palate, which finishes with just a hint of mountain tonic. A wonderful match for light to medium-bodied white fish, cold chicken salads, shrimp dim sum, and crab fritters.

Pierre Rovani (Wine Advocate): "...a medium-to-full-bodied wine with super concentration, layers of creamy candied grapefruits, as well as impeccable balance and focus. Older vintages of 'M' de Marionnet have aptly demonstrated that these wines age gracefully, taking on additional complexity, elegance, and richness with cellaring."

91 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "[$85 list] 2005 Astree--the Syrah, new wood counterpart to 'Pandora'--smells of creme de cassis and black cherry liqueur, mingled with pencil shavings, black pepper, and resin. Brown spices, and pungent stony suggestions join the aforementioned black fruit essences and wood notes on an implacably dense yet very sweetly-rich palate...this is an amazing tour de force of Grenache and schiste. (Oct 2007)"

88 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "[$18 list] Pale yellow-gold. Subtle aromas of orange, pear and honeysuckle, with a subtle mineral undertone. The fresh, supple palate conveys a restrained sweetness, good intensity, and a light touch, with little in the way of varietal herbacity. A smooth, easy-going rendition of sauvignon blanc, with good finishing breadth and sneaky length. (May/Jun 2010)"

Not yet reviewed; 2008 vintage rated 88 points by Wine Advocate: "The Reverdy 2008 Sancerre Rouge Terre de Maimbray -- from fruit grown on pure white chalk; subjected to greater selectivity, cold soak, and longer fermentation; and rendered entirely in barrel -- suggests a tart blackberry and red currant melange suffused with salt and chalk, and a sense of chewy fruit skin complimented by glyceral richness. It will probably be worth following for a couple more years."

Producer notes: "This well-balanced wine has typical aromas of violet with an emphasis on fruit, and comes from nine different vineyards of the Gamay varietal, which are located throughout the Moulin a Vent appellation. The refinement and richness of this wine is revealed by a soft wine making technique, maceration under CO2 and a six-month aging process in wooden vats and barrels."
