90-95 points Wine Enthusiast: "The bouquet smells enticingly of fresh cherries, cherry pit, limestone and cooking spice. Entry is ripe and seductively sweet, with touches of spice; the midpalate explodes with juicy cherry and cherry compote tastes, supported and balanced by mineral. Concludes with a lovely rush of ripe cherry flavor. Alcohol 41%. (12/15/08)"
****Highly Recommended, F. Paul Pacult (Spirit Journal): "Impeccably pure; pewter appearance. Smells of fresh cherries as well as cherry pit, limestone/slate, and cooking spice (mace); additional minutes in the glass bring out a bigger fresh cherry presence as the slate/mineral component slides to the background; a dazzling clinic on authentic cherry perfume. Entry is ripe and seductively sweet, with touches of spice in the background; the midpalate stage explodes with juicy cherry and cherry compote tastes that are supported by a slatyt/minerally foundation that keeps the sweetness/ripeness in check. Concludes with a rush of ripe cherry taste that's satisfying and fresh. (2007)"

93-96 points Fine Wine Review: "The Chapelle-Chambertin is pure and deep with darker fruit than the Griotte and a fine minerality. The last several vintages have been kind to Chapelle-Chambertin, both here and at other addresses, and this one overflows with fruit. (Feb 2009)"
94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "As fine as the Griotte and Charmes are in 2007, the Chapelle takes the quality up to the next level in this vintage, as it combines the precision and nascent complexity of the Charmes and the deeper and sappier profile of the Griotte. The bouquet is outstanding, as the wine jumps from the glass in a blaze of black cherries, cocoa, game, blood orange, and black soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very sappy at the core, with great focus and balance, fine-grained tannins, tangy acids and outstanding length and grip on the complex and classy finish. A great bottle of Chapelle. 2014-2040. (Jan/Feb 2009)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "[$316 list] Seems marked by oak, yet with substance underneath. Cedar and sandalwood aromas are backed by cherry, currant, anise and mineral flavors, but overall this is sweet, intense and saturated on the finish. Best from 2012 through 2025. 40 cases imported. (8/25/10)"
92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .60 ha parcel split 50/50 between Chapelle and En Gémeaux). A ripe liqueur-like nose featuring red and blue berry fruit that has violet and rose fragrances around the edges that precede rich, full, sappy and wellmuscled big-bodied flavors that are seductive, minerally and textured and culminate in a punchy, energetic and driving finish. I like the underlying sense of tension here and while the big tannins are less sophisticated than those of the Griotte, there is perhaps a bit more overall depth here, at least at present. Drink: 2019+. (Jan 2010)"

95 points Wine Spectator: "Complex aromas of crushed berries, pepper and spices. Full-bodied, with medium sweetness and layers of polished tannins. Masses of berry, plum and citrus character. This single-vineyard Port is always superb. Best after 2014. (4/30/06)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "[$78 list] Full ruby. Pure, sexy aromas of black fruits, minerals and spice cake. Concentrated, superrich and impressively structured; a sweet, dense, primary wine with terrific depth and breadth. Offers intriguing hints of woodsmoke and pomegranate, and conveys a strong sense of extract. The vibrant finish features compellingly sweet tannins and a whiplash of black cherry and licorice flavor. A great showing already, but this should reward 12 to 15 years of aging. (Jan/Feb 2006)"

96 points Wine Spectator: "[$245 list] Like a tropical fruit marmalade, this is thick and flavorful and kept lively by moderate acidity. Dominated by the sweetness today, it needs time to show a full range of flavors. Best from 2008 through 2030. 3 cases imported."

95 points Joel Payne (International Wine Cellar): "[$281/375ml list] Musky aromas of peach, butterscotch and cinnamon rise above the botrytis. Full-bodied caramelized fruits overwhelm the palate, only just balanced by the oyster shell salinity. Succulent sweet flavors pervade the finish. This wine still needs time. (Jan/Feb 2006)"
95 points Wine Spectator: "A silky-smooth dessert white, evoking apricot, honey, lemon and spice aromas and flavors. It's concentrated and lively, with fine intensity on a light-bodied profile. It still needs time to reveal all its charms. Drink now through 2040. 25 cases imported. (4/30/06)"
