92 points Peter Moser (International Wine Cellar): "[$80 list] Medium green-yellow. Inviting bouquet of peach, greengage plum, honey and dried apricot over a subtle background of smoky flint. Intense and concentrated peach and pineapple are wrapped in a transparent veil of sweetness and elegantly suspended by a firm acid spine. Finishes with lingering hints of papaya and pineapple. Drink 2011 to 2023. (Nov/Dec 2009)"
Bill Mayer (The Age of Riesling): "The 'Lyra' is the most sheerly beautiful of all Willi's Rieslings, a masterpiece of cool minerality combined with sensational fruit. Impossible to have a conversation drinking this wine."

Crusoe Spiced Rum goes beyond the typical vanilla and sugar profile of ordinary spiced rums to bring you a bold dance of spices -- cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, clove, vanilla -- coupled with an orange zest and molasses. It's rare for a spiced rum to stand alone as a sipper, but this one can do it.

2003 vintage rated 94 points by Wine Spectator, which wrote: "With an auburn color and dark notes of maple, date and sugared walnut, this will be a different paradigm for most. Yet manages to stay fresh and focused, with a mouthwatering finish that lets the green tea and ginger notes linger. A wild wine. Drink now through 2017. 25 cases made."

David Schildknecht (International Wine Cellar): "Peach, ginger spice and high-toned maraschino aromas. Cherries and peaches continue to figure on the palate, which features an imposingly liqueur-like intensity, volatility and texture. For all of its upfront intensity, this leads to an elegant, polished, refined and remarkably long finish layering peach, candied citrus, red fruit, nut oils, honey, slate and spice."

93+ points Rhone Report: "[$85 list] A serious, old vine Grenache Cuvee that's aged all in new oak, the 2005 Mas de la Deveze Cotes du Roussillon Villages Pandora is still a baby in terms of development, sporting an inky purple color to go with decadent, awesomely rich aromas of roasted herbs, black licorice, smoked meats, crushed flowers, and earthy dark fruits. Full-bodied and beautifully concentrated, yet with impeccable balance, notable freshness, and a mineral and bitter chocolate driven finish, this is thrilling stuff that possesses loads of richness and power, yet also shows a sense of restraint and elegance. It opens up over the evening, yet never loses its primary, youthful flare or structured edge. I would give bottles another 3-4 years in the cellar, at which point it should be at the early stages of maturity, with a full decade or longer of prime drinking. (Mar 2012)"
92 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "[$85 list] A special bottling of pure old vines Grenache in (four!) new barrels, Bernstein’s 2005 Pandora mingles strawberry jam, white pepper, smoked meat, and barrel staves in the nose, and comes to the palate amazingly sweet and high-toned, with strawberry liqueur underlain by persistent meatiness and stony mineral character. Fine tannins suffuse the palate but do not interfere with the enjoyment of so much pure, ripe fruit. (Oct 2007)"

Robert Parker: "[$80 list] The 2000 Passadouro possesses plenty of fruit, but it is more muted, with less spice and personality than the Broadbent. It exhibits a similar dense ruby/purple color, medium to full body, a soft, evolved character, but less aromatic and flavor dimensions. Drink it over the next 15 years."

89-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A fresh, expressive and ripe nose of plum, violets, earth and a game nuance that is also reflected by the rich, full and impressively scaled medium weight plus flavors that evidence a trace of minerality on the firm, balanced and strikingly long finish. Lovely and this is a Pommard of refinement but still a Pommard. Comments: Sweet spot Outstanding. Drink: 2018+. (Apr 2010)"

92+ points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "[$45 list] Receiving 15% whole cluster and aged 15 months in French oak, 33% new, on original lees, the 2007 'Eaton Family Vineyard' Pinot Noir has a medium ruby color. There’s a funky/wild character on the nose over aromas of warm strawberries and raspberries, game, earth, forest floor, loam, truffles and a whiff of dried herbs. Very crisp and tight in the mouth, this medium-full bodied Pinot gives a medium level of silky tannins with great flavor concentration and a long layered finish. Drink it now to 2015+. (Oct 2010)"
4-1/2 stars, Michael Cooper's Guide to New Zealand Wines 2010: "Grown on clay slopes on the south side of the Wairau Valley, the 2007 vintage is a fleshy, elegant and supple wine with concentrated, ripe plum and spice flavours, savoury and complex, and a silky, sustained finish."

91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "[$45 list] Bright medium red. Pure aromas of raspberry, cherry, spices and orange peel showed increasingly liqueur-like ripeness with extended aeration. Dense but high-pitched, with a juicy blood orange note that initially reminded me of Chambolle-Musigny. Finishes with a nicely restrained sweetness and a light touch. This is still quite young. I would have scored it even higher but for some emerging suggestions of superripeness. (Sep/Oct 2009)"

Producer notes: "Elegant aromas of boysenberry and black cherry join with nuances of vanilla and plum. These aromas lead to a soft and supple mouth-feel, rich with blackberry and toffee flavors. Hints of spice and cranberry are supported by moderate tannins for a smooth finish. Our favorite pairings for this wine include chicken cacciatore, Cornish game hen, and parmesan risotto. Alcohol 14.4%."

90 points Robert Parker: "From a vineyard on Pritchard Hill, this 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is packed and stacked with blueberry and blackberry fruit interwoven with graphite and earth characteristics... There is enough depth and concentration to support the wine’s structure, but this is a broodingly backward, forboding style of wine that requires 3-4 years of bottle age. (Dec 2008)"
This wine is packed with blueberry and blackberry fruit interwoven with graphite and earth. A striking wine that's bold, rich and opulent, with tiers of currant, blackberry, black cherry and plum fruit. Deep and concentrated. Ends with a burst of ripe fruit and a long, persistent finish that echoes mineral and tobacco notes. The wine may take a few years to hit its full stride but it has enough depth and concentration to support the ample and broad structure. 3 to 4 years cellaring are recommended but it should have no trouble cruising past 10 years.

91+ points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): "The 2008 Pinot Noir Terres Basses is my favorite of the vineyard designates. It is a harmonious offering with an inviting perfume of smoke, exotic spices, floral notes, and dark fruit aromas. Nicely proportioned on the palate, it displays excellent concentration and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. It will deliver prime drinking from 2013 to 2023. (Oct 2011)"
91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Bright ruby-red. Cherry-vanilla and cola on the nose, with a spicy element increasing with aeration. Deeply pitched, nicely concentrated dark fruit flavors are complemented by notes of black cardamom and clove. Dusty tannins build on the impressively long, gently chewy, sweet finish. I'd let this rest for another couple of years. (Jul/Aug 2011)"
90 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(14.2%). A reserved, indeed almost circumspect nose speaks of plum, anise and dark berry liqueurs that introduce rich, supple and very generous flavors that enjoy good dry extract levels that impart a sappy and textured character to the chewy, dusty and solidly persistent finish. This isn’t as robust as the Emery or as refined as the Kiana but this is certainly attractive in its own right. Drink: 2014+. (Oct 2011)"
Producer notes: "Terres Basses means the low lands, and comprises our lowest vineyard blocks ranging in elevation from 310' to 380' on very gentle south facing slopes. Although this is still a very youthful wine, the aromatic profile (once it’s seen a bit of air) is anything but simple. Aromas evolve from wood spice, cedar, coffee and vanilla into Christmas spices, doug fir, cassis and a touch of citrus. The palate promises many years of deepening texture and complexity yet already offers rich black fruits, structured tannins and well-integrated acidity. The finish suggests blue fruit, rose petals and pepper. Age this wine for 10+ years and pair with Coq au Vin or Duck Confit."
