94 points and 'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "Doesn’t say so on the label, but this is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Atlas Peak area. Very dry and tannic, with an astringent lockdown, it’s functionally undrinkable now, but it does show the intensity of this mountainous region for Cabernet, with explosive blackberry, blueberry and black currant flavors. All indications are that it’s an ager. Hold until 2015, at the very least. (Apr 2012)"
93+ points Robert Parker: "[$98 list] More statuesque and compelling is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Townsend Vineyard. Initially restrained, this dense ruby/purple-colored wine offers up notes of forest floor, blackberries and cassis along with a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel and attractive elegance and purity. Multilayered with sweet tannin, it should age nicely for 15+ years. (Dec 2010)"

92 points Robert Parker: "This small, artisanal estate has released a dense ruby/purple-colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate revealing a distinctive bouquet of chocolate, espresso roast and cassis. Tight for a 2007, the wine reveals exceptional concentration, medium to full-bodied flavors and impressive purity, length and texture. Give it 1-2 more years of bottle age and drink it over the following 15+. (Dec 2010)"
90 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "[$85 list] Nicely defined, blackcurrant fruit is joined in the nose by a touch of forest-floor spice and atypical suggestions of bacon, and that fruit carries forward into this wine's complex, moderately deep flavors. Already showing impressions of layering as well as a fine sense of real varietal range, this concise, nicely made youngster is fit with a good backbone of integral, well-measured tannins, and it will start to come into its own some five or six years down the line. (Dec 2012)"

A rich, voluptuous wine, the 2009 is all raciness and flashiness. All of the elements are in the right place. This gorgeous wine captures the exuberance of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in spades. Producer notes: "Back by popular demand is the latest version of multi-vintage Impromp2. This is a blend of wine from the cellar of Arns Estate. The wine is made from selections across clones and vintages 2005 - 2009. These are special wines that were not blended with the Arns Estate Cabernet. These small lots were intentionally set aside for this special blend because of their unique character and flavors. The rich older vintages along with the vibrant new vintages offer a great experience for the palate. Flavor characteristics of chocolate, cherries, anise, mulberry, black raspberries adds complexity and charm to this blend you can experience now or cellar for a later enjoyment. 100 cases produced."

90 points Wine Spectator: "Very ripe, exhibiting generous, plush blackberry and wild berry that pushes toward jam without reaching it, with a touch of herb. Shows the suppleness that comes from bottle age. Drink now through 2022. 400 cases made. (11/15/12)"
Producer notes: "97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc. A beautiful nose showing fresh, dark fruits, a little spiced caramel, and crushed floral notes. On the palate, it's all about the fruit. There's plenty of plum, dark cherry, cassis, and black currant that's interlaced with spice and subtle new oak. Although concentrated, the wine has great structure and good acidity. 420 cases produced."

93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "Deep, dense and rich, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain oozes with character and sheer personality. Black fruit, tobacco, incense and crushed rocks are some of the many nuances that unfold as the wine sits in the glass. Tar, asphalt and licorice are layered into the sinewy, powerful finish. The 2010 is a fascinating and totally intriguing Cabernet. The blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (Dec 2012)"
Producer notes: "89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Dark purple in its youth, the 2010 Spring Mountain Cabernet has an immediate core of pure black fruit, mostly cassis and blackberry. Full fennel/black licorice and crushed violets are also prevalent. The dark mountain earth minerality is balanced by sweet vanilla bean aromatics from the oak. The wine is quite plush with concentrated raspberry and more gravel mineral tones on the palate. The tannins this year are very firm, with natural mountain acid to balance, demanding some time in the bottle to show its best. Barrel aged 22 months in French oak (70% new and 30% 2-4 years old). Alcohol 14.2%. 914 cases produced."

*SPECIAL: Take 10% Off Listed Price! (We'll reduce item's price when processing your order.) 92+ points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, from vines planted on volcanic soils, is gorgeous. Fresh, perfumed aromatics meld into expressive dark red fruit in this silky, layered Cabernet Sauvignon. High-toned floral, spiced notes add lift on the long, persistent finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (Dec 2011)"
Producer notes: "There is a purity and richness to this bottling I absolutely love. The deep red color is fantastic and is ever so inviting. This is the widest mélange of fruit and character in the profound Beau Vigne lineup. This wine lives up to its position of a Reserve. The nose begins as brooding of black fruit but shortly builds to include lively mountain terroir. What is 'mountain terroir?' It is the racy and complex array of red fruit that shows itself in higher elevations. In support of the fruit is warmth from barrel vanillin, espresso ice cream and biscotti center. The notes of confection on the nose are amazing. The palate drinks of youth with absolute potential. Driven by dried herbs, forest and tobacco notes, black berry and black stone fruit surface right through to the front of the palate. The balance of this wine sits high. In its youth, it is nervy and complex with a huge future ahead. The tannins of this mountain based cabernet could use a decade to yield. The day that time comes, there will be bliss. But for those who consume this wine at a young age, you will definitely not be disappointed. Cellared well, this wine should survive and drink well into its late teens or even twenties (+2028). 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 260 cases produced." - Kirk Venge, winemaker

Firm tannins support an expressive core of dark red fruit, grilled herbs, asphalt and savory herbs, all of which come to life in a vibrant Cabernet Sauvignon long on personality and character. This is a serious wine for the money. Like so many wines in this vintage, it has tons of energy and vibrancy. If opened within the next few years, the 2010 is likely to require decanting to open up. The blend is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. (Dec 2012)"

93+ points Robert Parker: "Alcohol: 14.6%; 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2006 was made from 32% Bancroft Ranch, 24% Steinhauer Ranch, 19% St. Helena Home Vineyard, with smaller amounts from Rancho del Oso, Chabot Vineyard, Marston Ranch and Lampyridae. A big heat wave in July was the salient weather factor in this vintage. The harvest began early and continued for five weeks. Abundant smoke, chocolate, espresso roast, cassis and mocha characteristics are found in this full-bodied, powerful, layered Cabernet. Although not quite as seamless as the nearly perfect 2005 Private Reserve, it is a big, dense beauty from a somewhat forgotten Napa Valley vintage. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two decades or more. (Jun 2011)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "($119 list; 60% from Howell Mountain fruit) Full ruby-red. Cassis and bitter chocolate on the nose, plus a dusty note that quickly blew off. Sweet, creamy and lush, with the classic black fruit, mineral and chocolate notes for which this wine is prized. At once structured and gentle thanks to its mid-palate stuffing. Finishes with big, broad, horizontal tannins that reach the front teeth. Almost deceptively sweet today, but I'd lay it down for at least a few years, as this bottling has a long track record for rewarding cellaring. (May/Jun 2009)"

97 points Robert Parker: "The 2007 Private Reserve is composed of 34% Bancroft Ranch, 33% Steinhauer Ranch, 8% Chabot Vineyard, 8% Lampyridae, and the remainder from St. Helena Home Vineyard, Marston Ranch and Rancho del Oso fruit. A mild spring and summer with only a handful of heat spikes was followed by beautiful weather in September and October. One of the finest Private Reserves made over the last two decades, this phenomenal wine is obviously still an infant in terms of development, but it exhibits a dense purple color as well as an extraordinary nose of blackberries, white chocolate, licorice, tobacco leaf, smoky barbecue, charcoal and a burning ember-like note reminiscent of a Graves from Bordeaux. A dense, luscious, full-bodied, opulent style, with sweet tannin, this locked and loaded, intense, full throttle Private Reserve should be accessible in 5-6 years and last for 25-30. (Jun 2011)"
94 points The Tasting Panel: "Dark, rich and dense with velvety texture and stunning ripe plum, blackberry, hints of chocolate and creamy vanilla oak; long and unctuous with a core acid structure that carries it all unobtrusively; elegant, seamless and masterful: one of the best Beringer PRs in a while. (Dec 2010)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "($119 list; includes 3% cabernet franc) Deep ruby. Lively aromas of cassis, licorice and violet. Sweet and lush but juicy, with a strong chocolatey character and excellent underlying backbone. Very densely packed cabernet, with suaver tannins than the Steinhauer or Lampyridae bottlings. Finishes with lingering licorice and bitter chocolate notes. A very successful blend: 70% from Howell Mountain, 14% St. Helena, 8% Mt. Veeder and 8% Spring Mountain. (May/Jun 2010)"
92 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "Insistent, very precise Cabernet fruit is the bearing by which this well-made wine steers, and its deep theme of optimally ripened cassis shines through its ample blanket of rich oak and powers on past the youthful tannins that presently rough up its finish. There is even now a sense of precision and style that sets this one apart, and, if never an especially big wine in build, it is very well-stuffed and exudes real varietal confidence from beginning to lasting finish. (Dec 2010)"
92 points California Grapevine: "Medium-dark ruby color; attractive, intense, black currant and dark berry fruit aroma with hints of dried herbs and espresso; full body; big, rich, concentrated, toasty, tarrish, blackberry fruit flavors with overtones of creamy oak; well balanced and structured; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Shows good bottle aging potential though also very enjoyable now. Very highly recommended. 14.6% alcohol; blended with 3% Cabernet Franc. (Dec 2010/Jan 2011)"

Suave and vibrant, with lovely definition to the flavors of cassis, violet, dark chocolate and minerals. Densely packed, very long wine with a serious structure for aging. Mostly from St. Helena fruit; the '07 version was mostly from Howell Mountain. Just 1,200 cases were bottled, the lowest total ever for this consistently outstanding cabernet. (May/Jun 2011)"
93 points Anthony Dias Blue (The Tasting Panel): "Lush and dense with dark plum and rich notes of oak, vanilla, tar and chocolate: ripe, full-bodied yet supple and elegant; rich, long and stylish with great aging potential. (Jan/Feb 2012)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Patience required for this taut, dense, focused effort, with layers of mineral, cedar, dried berry, black licorice and espresso. Shows great structure and focus, yet this is very tight and backward now. Best from 2013 through 2023. (5/31/12)"
Producer notes: "The 2008 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon shows youthful characters of fresh blackberry, black cherry and blueberry, and has bright characteristics of blackberry and blueberry aromas, accented by notes of toast, graphite, cedar and brown spices. The palette is rich and supple with seamless, mouth-coating tannins. The rich, juicy fruit core is highlighted by flavors of cassis, blackberry, sweet cocoa and a light savory note. A nice acidity lifts the fruit and carries it into a prolonged, pleasing finish. 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. Alcohol 14.5%."

Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good deep red. Cool nose and palate dominated by eucalyptus, mint and licorice. Nicely delineated and fine-grained, but the pronounced mintiness currently overshadows the wine's rather delicate fruit. Finishes with slightly drying tannins. This distinctive wine always has a eucalyptus component... (May 2012)"
Owned by Chotsie and Alan Blank, grafted onto the Grace Family clone, managed by Jim Barbour and made at Grace Family by Gary Brookman, this special project shows how terroir affects a finished product. The wine displays Rutherford characteristics of sour cherry in association with the unique characteristics of this 1.8 acre plot of land. Above all, the wine exhibits the ‘hallmark’ of the Grace Family Clone: balance and complexity.

95+ points Robert Parker: "[$225/750ml list] The real star is the nearly 1,000 case-lot of the Paradise Hills Vineyard Proprietary Red. The dense, opaque plum/purple-hued 2006 Paradise Hills Vineyard exhibits a beautiful, sweet bouquet of melted chocolate, burning embers, blackberries, mocha, espresso roast, cassis, and cherries as well as stunning concentration, and formidable, but velvety, beautifully integrated tannins. This wine comes across like a hypothetical blend of California, a great Graves, and something from further north in Bordeaux, such as a Pauillac. Full-bodied and powerful, it requires 2-4 years of cellaring, and should evolve for 20-25+ years. (Dec 2009)"
95 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot) Dark ruby-red. Vibrant, complex nose combines currant, minerals, tobacco and brown spices. Wonderfully sweet, lush and fine-grained, with its silky texture enlivened by compelling inner-mouth perfume. Intriguing mineral and licorice notes add to the complexity of this very deep, layered wine, which finishes with spreading tannins and outstanding length. Large-scaled and rather powerful but with a lovely light touch. A superb 2006. (May/Jun 2009)"

91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Prince of Hearts Paradise Hills Vineyard jumps from the glass with an immediacy and juiciness that is impossible not to love. The extroverted, racy fruit is perfectly suited for an entry-level bottling. Raspberry jam, flowers, tobacco and sweet spices wrap around the palate as this flashy wine shows off its pedigree. The French oak is just a bit dominant, but that is a relatively small critique for a wine that delivers so much sheer pleasure at this price point. The 2009 is 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. (Dec 2012)"

Producer notes: "Owner/Winemaker Matt Bonanno works closely with several vineyard managers throughout the Napa Valley to ensure the quality of his fruit and maximize the potential for each vintage. A deep ruby red, this seductive Cab shows classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas of spice and sage followed by a mix of blueberries and blackberries with fresh raspberry notes. With a nice balance of acid and well integrated tannins, this wine is smooth, supple and sleek in the mouth: it is well balanced across the palate showcasing flavors of dark fruit, currants and hints of mineral and anise. 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol 13.9%."
Not yet reviewed; 2008 vintage rated 'Best Buy' by Connoisseurs' Guide: "It may not be the deepest or the most complex Cabernet to be had, but this very amicable wine is juicy and fruity and enriched by a nice bit of sweet oak. While it is lightly tannic, it is also a touch rounded at the edges, and no more than a couple of years in the cellar should do the trick. Its price is right in today's market."

94 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2008 St. Eden is one of the richest, fleshiest and best-balanced of the 2008s in the Bond portfolio. Dark red fruit, flowers, minerals and spices are some of the notes that take shape in the glass. The 2008 has the mid-palate pliancy that is less evident in some of the other 2008s here. There is plenty of focus as well, especially on the long, saline finish. Tar, smoke and licorice add the final notes of complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. (Dec 2011)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "There's a touch of raciness in the aroma, with a sweet-sour edge to the vivid wild berry and currant notes that turn dry and chewy. Full-bodied and dense, with loamy, earthy tannins. Best from 2013 through 2023. 533 cases made. (11/15/11)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Full ruby-red. Subtle aromas of red- and blackcurrant, dried sage and nutty oak lifted by a floral topnote. Densely packed, thick and pliant but youthfully reserved, with noteworthy purity to its dark berry flavors. Finishes impressively long, with plush tannins. This youthfully backward wine will need at least several years of bottle aging. The wine's small merlot component was picked at the end of August. (May/Jun 2011)"

96 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good full ruby. Highly aromatic nose combines dark fruits, dried herbs, violet and forest floor spices. Explosively sweet and deep, with a spicy core of dark fruit flavors that fans out on the back half to saturate the palate. Finishes with strong but lush tannins and captivating violet lift. Remarkably horizontal for a cabernet-based wine from this vintage. (May/Jun 2011)"
95 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2008 Vecina is a huge, strapping wine bursting with dark fruit, leather, licorice, smoke, minerals and tar. It possesses striking mid-palate depth and more than enough fruit to stand up to the firm, imposing tannins. Iron, graphite, smoke and minerals are layered into the dark, brooding finish. This is an impressive showing. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (Dec 2011)"
94 points Wine Spectator: "Engagingly complex and layered, with a mix of dried currant, wild berry, forest floor, cedar, black licorice and tobacco flavors. Full-bodied and slow to unfold, gaining a sweetness on the finish. Best from 2013 through 2023. 601 cases made. (11/15/11)"

98 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The estate’s 2009 Bettina offers up sweet red berries, freshly cut flowers, mint, spices and crushed rocks. The 2009 Bettina stands out for its bright, high-toned aromas and flavors, as well as its intense, saline minerality. Everything about the 2009 is in the right place. This is a flat-out great bottle of wine. In a word: Fabulous. Wow! Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029. (Dec 2012)"
95 points Wine Spectator: "Shares the plush texture and savory herb, spice and lavender notes of the Cabernet, presented in a tight mix of dried currant, mineral, crushed rock and tobacco flavors. Half Cabernet, half other Bordeaux varietals. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2013 through 2026. 800 cases made. (8/15/12)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(bottled in August 2011; 55.6% cabernet sauvignon, 23.8% cabernet franc, 16.9% merlot and 3.7% petit verdot): Good deep red. Fresh aromas of redcurrant, violet, minerals, licorice, menthol and forest floor; more floral than the flagship cabernet. Rich and sweet in the mouth, with terrific blue and black berry intensity. Not quite as suave as the flagship bottling but vibrant and very long; the tannins are chewy and broad but a bit less polished. Still youthfully tight. (May 2012)"
Producer notes: "The Bettina Bryant Proprietary Red Wine is a gorgeous blend of Bordeaux varietals sourced from three of David Abreu’s own exceptional estate vineyards -- Madrona, Thorevilos, and Lucia Howell Mountain. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, and made with the same attention to detail as Bryant, this wine is beautifully layered and complex."
