100% Pinela, an old, local grape variety from the Vipava Valley in Slovenia. Intense golden yellow, and almost oil-like when poured into a glass. Gentle aromas of ripe fruit (peach, apricot), a subtle note of vanilla and sun-kissed grapes. In the background, notes of succulent, ripe yellow fruit as well as bread, creating a perfect harmony. On the palate, perfectly balanced, the wine's unique character reflects the terroir. Pinela is full, extractive, mineral with a sophisticated spiciness. It is calming, yet persistent, preserving the perfect elegance of this variety, despite the fullness and richness. Aging potential: 2025-2030.

Producer notes: "Kabaj is located in the sun-kissed hills of Goriska Brda, Slovenia, neighbor to Collio, Italy. Thier 29 acres of hand-tended mature vines are planted in deep Marl soils left behind by a prehistoric sea. All Kabaj wines are fermented slowly with native yeast and held a minimum of three years before release. Rebula, an ancient variety, when left on its skins will produce deep, spicy, age-worthy wines like this one."

A blend of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, this is the house liter of the Kögl Estate. Each year the field blend changes, but the mineral character of the region dominates the wine regardless. Vinified under cool temperatures in stainless steel with selected yeast and bottled as fresh as possible. Light on the palate with pronounced minerality and a touch of trapped CO2, it’s at first glance similar to many Austrian liters already available, but what sets it apart is its aromatic range and delicacy. Delightful as a zippy aperitif with fresh cheese, fruit, nuts, and a go to with fresh vegetables. The Belo is a serious picnic wine.

The "Magna Domenica Albus" is Kogl's flagship wine which is exactly what the Latin translates to: "Grand White Estate Wine". Pale, greenish gold in color, this blend of Riesling, Yellow Muscat, and Auxerrois has a nose that combines slightly funky aromas of wet wood with beautiful scents of white blossoms and ripe melon. In the mouth it tastes of paraffin, pear, and white flowers wrapped around a core of tart melon flavor. The decent acidity brings a lightly mineral, even metallic quality to the long, intriguing finish.
